Storage building

You fixin to move in there when it’s done?
Maybe start hiding some short people upstairs? While it's still only 10 feet wide, now it's also 12 feet tall! Really didn't need the gambrel roof with the 12 foot addition. One or the other would have been fine. But it's nearly done.

Got 50' roll of 12/2 to add more outlets and lights. Maybe put hot tub in the loft? Be combo cooling and sauna.

Occurred to me can maybe put one of the step ladders under middle of that death trap ladder to help support it. Ladders have zero strength in that direction. I'll see how trampoline it feels.

Probably split another sheet or two of OSB to add as handrail. Terrified I be. Have several sheets that are close to 10 years old. Vintage. Have NOt stood up on it yet. Chicken.

Poured last night. Had to open the shed door carefully so didn't get washed away. Rain about destroyed the flowers out front on my trailer. Rain, Rain, go away. Come back again some other day? Gonna tape some seams today. Have to get it done.

Before and after. Guess was shooting off the nearly flat porch roof.

Cut some OSB for guardrail and to lay on the work surface planks so tools don't drop thru. Pulled the run of underlayment loose for about half it's length and reset it to take the wrinkles out. Actually stood up couple times! Ran 2 inch butyl tape run down the OSB seam/gap on one side. Need to go back out and put three runs of underlayment on that side now. Added some cap nails to the one that's on as just too steep for the sticky stuff & staples to hold it. Get it run up/over the peak will put drip edge on. That will help hold the ends.

Tempted to do the whole shingle job on this side so don't have to move the scaffolding 3-4 times. Plus getting shingles on will keep the underlayment from sliding off.

It's a 24 inch wide hallway and I still hate standing up in it. Got one more piece on. Slightly different style. Now I know, especially for this type roof, 30wt tar paper. It will be easier/work better on the top section I think. Mainly it's a two person job on the lower part. That last piece went fine I just don't have the patience for this ****. Maybe go back out and try to get the upper part ran?😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

I threatened to get up early and have at it. Did NOT happen. Got up at 9AM. Shower, clothes, Hardee's Biscuits & Gravy, little convo with several people, Food Lion for milk & eggs. Home. Watching DiagnoseDan on u-tube.

Have underlayment run up to about foot from peak on this side. Tacked the plastic down but realized need to go pop it loose and shift it about foot toward other side. That will cover all the gaps. This way can leave scaffolding where it is, do shingles on this side. I'll move the plastic but shingles won't happen in next week as gonna get brutally hot. It's crazy how hot the underlayment gets in 15 minutes in the sun.

Need to establish scaffolding at front doors so can finish siding and better framing support for overhang. Then can put drip edge on and start shingling. My really cheap 16 foot extension ladder gets too spongy above 10 foot high. It'a about a death trap IMO. Maybe tomorrow.

Scaffolding about 80% complete on other side. Just need to put few screws in the work surface, mount three pieces of handrail. Then...no excuses. Tempted to screw a step I built out of 2x8 & 2x6 to upper part of the steep section to put the roll of underlayment on. Really like to get it run all the way over the top so can remove the plastic that's up there. May end up buying the restraint system again first of the month. Like to put a permanent D-Ring anchor on the peak for any future work.

May need a chimney for the hottub?

Will you do hardwood flooring?

Scaffolding is as ready as I can make it. Tomorrow morning get the underlayment on. Was little hot for it today. At one point the weather thing on desktop said 99 degrees with 105 index. That's hawt!😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫
