Storage building

Didn't remember the "long" Kreg screws are 2.5". Thought inch or so more. Have 4" torx screws that would probably be fine but don't want to chance splitting the wood. Possibly take the existing new door down so can drill the crossmembers for pocket holes. Could then trim top of door siding or just mount the door inch or so lower to get clearance. I like having the siding overhang the top plate tho.
 
Guess what just found on the shelf? Have no memory of buying them. Guess will have plenty later today.

The doors, door. Need to add some trim to cover the hackery and put handle on. Might just use the old school 2x4 across inner side of opening. Have the fancy handle like on front but requires drilling a hole and putting in couple screws. Have two more hinges to install.

Did some things today but no shingles laid. Did stick some OSB on back & sides of bench to brace the legs. Did several things but the bench is all I can remember. Think maybe possibly figured out way to cut the roof OSB off probably maybe possibly 3.75 inches or so. Screw a board to roof @ about inch from edge to use as a guide. Let saw sit on that and away we go. And we have Coyotes or something eating the cats. Had couple that slept on my porch that disappeared months or so ago. Landowner mentioned others said they gone missing.

Really need to drag everything outside so can sweep/vacuum up all the refugees. OH! That's another thing I did. Took bedroom TV out to the shed. Wireless Internetz works just fine. Do i need it out there? Probably not.

My laptop is getting baked or updated or something. Cobbling Win 11 onto it. I hope. Says it's too old. We shall C.
 
Laptop works. Attempted to buy a 5 & 1/2" Milwaukee Circular Saw off Marketplace. It was the cut-off saw. Not what I want. Stopped at Home Depot to look at saws. Keerist they high. Amazon is right at 100 bucks cheaper for same item. So...bought new blade for my corded Ryobi 7&1/4, 1x2 trim to both use as guide boards and to seal some gaps around doors. Box of 1 & 5/8 screws. If trim boards work as a guide the corded saw will get it did 3-4 feet at a time.

Did cut several books of shingles. Tried to nail some drip edge to the existing overhang which is just unsupported 1/2" OSB. Too springy. Supposed to buy a 10" table saw tomorrow evening. Need to rip edge off some 2x6 @ 45-50* angle to make an overhang.

Yet another thing...the 1 & 1/4 roofing nails aren't 1 & 1/4. Maybe could stretch it to say 1 & 1/8? One box was all wadded up. Had to unroll and reroll to get them in the gun. Cheap junk is never worth the expense.
 
I be doing stuff. Finally got the blade off the sliding miter saw. Original owner apparently didn't know it's left hand thread. Will order a new bolt. Changed blade on circular saw too. Cuts like butter now. Quite possible my struggles cutting a straight line was related to the blade having cut waàaày too many nails? Was shoving it thru the boards. Cobbled a small shelf in the corner. Have plenty of shelf space it's just covered with junk.IMG_20251006_122553204_HDR.jpg

Not sure how to pick up the table saw. Tempted to take trailer and just leave it on the trailer instead of jamming it on the porch. Plus will likely have to load myself and not sure can get on my S10 alone.
 
Ordered new bolt which comes in pack of two. 8ish bucks. Going to clean off the trailer and get it ready. Certain can do it that way so won't have to disassemble the saw as it has a home built outfeed table on the end. Might not be heavy at all but...
 
Trailer is ready to roll except right taillight seems to have quit. Or a wire is broke. I don't care. LED lights I put on and replaced all the wiring. Something quit working. No idea where my test light is hiding. Have voltmeter but that would require cutting wires. Not gonna do it.IMG_20251006_150542255.jpg
 
Not looking good. Checked on the one and got the "oh I'm sorry...something came up tonight". And nothing more. No "we could do it tomorrow evening" or anything. NEXT! Next one guy said MIGHT be available after 6PM. I'm ready to roll folks.

Left tail light works but signal doesn't. I'll find my crimp connectors and cut the turn signal wire and test as don't think can remove the lens? I'll start at front connector tho. It may be the adapter under the truck. Think it was new also but nothing is any good anymore. Nearly everything you buy is about a 6th generation knock-off.

Still has the spotted pony look. I COULD paint some of it any time I get the urge. Just haven't had that urge yet. I'd like to replace the sides of the original shed before painting the rear. Takes five sheets of that pre-primed siding @175ish + tacks. Probably be spring for that part. Like to spend 4-500 bucks on a good pair of glasses. That's the price for the lens as Medicare pays for frames. I mean if you look at the plan, says they pay for lens but not according to the eye Doc. IDK?
 
Was trying to figure out a way to use saw on the trailer. Need to rip edge of 12 foot 2x6. OK...you have infeed & outfeed. Table entry side (infeed) is little over 12 inches. Leaves 11 foot of board flopping in the wind with you 11 + feet from saw pushing the board hoping it doesn't kickback and knock your head off. Need to be where can keep board against the fence. Close to saw. Nope. Drug bench outside but forgot the trailer bed is 16 inches off the ground. DOH! Ultimately need probably 4 roller stands?

Probably best option is to clean off the porch and marry the tablo' saw & miter saw to one bench. Porch is 14 foot and built bench so handrail heights work as supports. Problem is have about 1/4 of shed floor space occupied by bundles of shingles. Would like to put them ON the roof. Really gonna have to do major clean-up in shed, move all the stuff off the porch that belongs in the shed anyway so can use porch for woodworking.

Stuffed it in the shed. Have to design functional wheels. It's easier to drag than try to get those floppy casters to work. I suppose may end up tall enough to match the shed bench then? Didn't want to use it in the shed as noisy and tons of dust. But whatever. I got tired of sweating and measuring chit over and over.

Two 2x4 stacked (1.5 + 1.5) with piece of 1/2" plywood over gets saw up to where the shed bench will work for in-feed. I'm more worried about that than the out- feed. Still might build a base structure/box for the porch. Really like to put it somewhere and leave it. The stand is 26x24. Wouldn't want to make square would you?😉IMG_20251007_145248208.jpg
 
Two stands for 10 bucks in Wilson. About hour drive for the whole trip. Perfect! Waiting on the magic fingers to be delivered plus have eye Doc appointment at noon. Gonna cut an old board as a test.

Another flipped picture. Guess now that I look at it, could have cleaned off that table and used it. Just run out of room to maneuver with that tho. I think. Would be fine for the outfeed end tho.
 
One that showed up won't work to hold board against fence but with extended height fence would help hold the board down on machines surface.

THIS is a spectacularly nice tool. Apparently the wheels have a sprag function so will only spin one direction. Works like a brake to help prevent kickback.
