The Annex

Only a mountain truck would need that many gears....early in my county career, I drove a dump with 5-speed 4 speed auxilsary trans......2 shifting levers..

Have to with what Naz said about those levers, it is a custom job for looks.
Last truck I owned ( never again) was a 1966 Chevy with dual transmissions, 5 and 4. Only had a 366 engine so it kept you busy shifting.
The most gears in a truck was a 21 speed tranny but all air shift except for the main. good truck for pushing snow. LOL

Yes it is good to see them coming around. How's Va and DC? Is it freezing up there?
It's in the upper 30s right now going into the 40s later. Too cold for me. Next week we'll be back in the 50s so that will be nice. Is it warmer down there?

Good morning Lin.
I saw Lady 6 posted at NFP last night and she didn't use caps.:eek2:
Hi Pete..... I've never really noticed if she typically uses caps or not. I think Carl always does. but it never bothered me. Better than the gibberish that a certain member, who shall not be named, always posted in. LOL

We have one who can be VERY hard to understand on occasions. :D I always have to read his posts 2 or 3 times in order to get his meaning. He will spell
like it sounds and punctuates at random, or no punctuation at all. :D

Good morning to all. Rather dreary and damp here in East Texas.

Mornin all. It was 34 and very windy this morning but the sun is out.

Yeah but he's our own personal gibber'er. Everybody needs one but one's pretty much enough. :D

I hope you get some sunshine today.

Ugh.. poor punctuation and grammar really drives me nuts. Not so much on message boards and forums, but at work. People write these reports and I can't figure out what the heck they're saying. I wonder how the heck some of these folks made it through high school.

Lin, as a retired English/Language Arts teacher I have to bite my tongue all the time. My fingers just itch to correct things that are
written on my FB page, in tweets, etc. Sometimes I just want to bang my head against the wall. LOL

I find when your on a pension and have limited funds available texting is the way to go. besides the grand kids will send a text but don'r call because of their cell phone plan.

When my wife wants something she text so I can't say I didn't hear her. :)

the plus side of that is...you have it in writing, so you don't fergit what it was.

or that you can prove it she said "Bud Light" and not 'Busch Light" like what you bought and she told you wrong....:D

That works. I think the most texting I've done in one session was with Naz during a rain delay at AMS. It just doesn't happen on my phone.

I can only imagine what you think of the kids like @ChexOrWrex who write things like u2 and l8r not to mention those emoji things.
It doesn't bother me so much when I see it in forums or message boards, or on Facebook and twitter. It does bother me at work though. The only thing that kind of bothers me on social media is misuse or misspelling of words like there/their/they're, your/you're, too/to/two, affect/effect, accept/except, etc.

I'm very careful about that. @TexasRaceLady is a retired school teacher and my wife is still one. One time I was watching the Blue Angels practice from my back yard drinking a BL or two and made a post about it because TRL's dad was a Navy Pilot and spelled it Blue Angles and got head smacked twice. :D

Oh, those mistakes are like fingernails scraping a chalkboard to me. *shudder*

Johali, it was ONE head smack and an arm twist. :D

Makes you want to get your Red Pen out and correct them. I'm nowhere near perfect, but I try to use proper grammar and spelling. And I always proofread myself before posting, for corrections, if needed.

It's a bit chilly for my liking, other than that, it's great. About to cook breakfast.

I been off work all week but my boss decided to put me to work today, tired of sitting around watching the news.
Apparently I am going to be working 5 days a week again starting monday, about 5 or 6 hours a day probably, glad to hear you are well
