BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- There's no reason to tell Hailie Deegan that not many women compete in NASCAR's regional series, the series that often serves as the first or second step for a driver aspiring to reach the top level of NASCAR.
"There's not many girls here, so I've got a pretty good chance," Deegan said. "Everyone is pushing for a girl to come into NASCAR. If you look around here, there's 22 guys and one girl.

Sorry, they're too far down the food chain right now for me to pay attention. Keeping up with upcoming Truck and X drivers is about all I can manage.

Yeah, one Nascar is craving for female drivers, but two, they are going to have to be able to run up front for teams, sponsors and fans after the Danica period IMO.

If ANY of these young ladies is going to have a shot at success, I think we need to see them in at least a modestly competitive Truck Series ride at age 18-19. If they are much behind that curve, I don't think they'll ever catch up to the pack. I for one hopes it happens.

Both of those girls are occupying top rides in their respective series. It won't take long to find that out.

Kevin Harvick said that Danica wasn't really a SHR team member and they didn't get the same information as the rest of the teams. It was implied that she was shut out and was allowed to be there only because of the revenue for SHR. I've believed that from the beginning. Hopefully the next females will be treated equally.

After watching Race Hub last night, it sounded like Kevin Harvick was pretty happy that she finally moved on. He basically said that the 10 was really not part of the overall team at SHR. He said they would never consider looking at the 10 teams notes or setup. He is glad that AA is now in the ride and they now have a teammate they are willing to obtain information from and share with. I thought it was quite a jab he made at her.

Looks like a click bait article to me or at least from the thread title. The next time I see a woman in Nascar is when she is on the starting grid of a cup race.

yeah. I'm sure Tony Eurie, and Tony Gibson withheld information while she continued to wreck everything including her boyfriend.

It wasn't said that her CCs withheld anything but a lot of things were withheld from her team.

Links please. I would like to know what things were withheld from DP's team and the person that authorized it? The best thing for SHR would have been for DP to have been successful so sabotaging her would have been counter productive. What benefit did SHR receive by not supporting the 10 car 100%?

See post #10. I believe what and who I want to believe and you do the same. And do your own homework I have other things to do.

If you or can tell me why you think it would be beneficial for SHR to sabotage its golden goose I would love to know. It makes zero sense.

I believe an insider at SHR has more info and a better idea of what's going on than a keyboarder on a racing forum.

Yikes. I've noticed in interviews this year when talking about the 10 car and Aric, he has held no punches regarding that car's performance last year and in year's prior. He's definitely thrown her under the bus multiple times.

Yep. There's a lotta reasons why I believe what I do but I aint gonna splain'em all. :D

I'm not really keen to pick a fight about this hot-button issue, but the pointed Harvick comments I've read were stating that it was a positive that his team and the other SHR cars were now receiving useful data from the #10 car, implying that they had not been before. He stated that the increased data sharing was one reason for better overall team performance. I don't recall him claiming that the reverse was true, and information was withheld from the #10 team. Maybe there was ultimately a tit-for-tat going on, I don't know.

I also hope the next female driver to reach the Cup series does very well.

Post #18 in the referenced discussion was DIDIT's paraphrasing of Harvick's comments. Does anyone have a link to the actual source quotations?

Only 38 cars are showing up to a race in nascars back yard, at this point I’ll support anyone that wants to give it a go. 10 drivers, 60 drivers, come Sunday only the elite eight(2,4,11,18,22,42,48,78) will have a shot at winning.

As I said before It's just my opinion and it's been tossed around on here ad nauseam. Sorry that I revived it. And no I don't have a source.

After the Danica experience, I doubt these girls get a shot.

This pretty much covers it. I have only watched a few laps this season. Without her i'm just not interested. But she didn't have a varied enough career to be able to adapt to stock cars. Plus, IMO, she didn't try very hard to fit in. Never spent any time at the shop or tried to fit into the team. In a way I'm glad she's gone. So much negativity surrounded her career. She had to be exhausted. I'd guess there will only be 30 teams running when next female makes a cup start. Probably after current TV deal is over. They need to chop ten races off the season too...

On her way out the door, Danica trashed her team... "they didn't believe in me, they didn't give full effort, etc." Her exit comments were unnecessary and uncalled for, IMO. She came up with the perfect exit plan - the Daytona 500/Indy 500 double - and then she tarnished this brilliant plan with her unfortunate exit comments.

The recent comments by Tony Stewart and later by Kevin Harvick... about how the #10 team with Aric Almirola is now contributing to SHR's success for the first time... is their response to her throwing Stewart-Haas under the bus last November. For six years, Tony and everyone at SHR said all the right things to support Danica. So when she lobbed those grenades on her way out the door, they responded in similar fashion. Just my $0.02.

If I hadn't joined the pick 'em game I wouldn't be all that interested as well. So I follow the drivers I pick and listen to their in-car radios. And I gotta say, the guys I've picked so far have been as vanilla and as boring as it get's.The McMurry radio almost put me to sleep at Cali:lol2:.DP may not have won races and was mostly a p20 driver, but at least she had a personality and was a blast to listen to every race day.

Misogyny on full display here. A thread about Hailie Deegan turns into a Danica bashfest even though Danica's not even in NASCAR anymore.

PS ... the snarky thread title sucks.

PPS ... that's a picture of Natalie Decker in the first post.

The Deegan kids are both FAST. Brian Deegan’s son is already riding supercross tracks and Hailee has learned asphalt racing super well. Brian has done a great job of giving them the tools to flourish. Two kids to keep an eye on for sure, and I’m pulling hard for Hailee in stock cars.

The OP article is a “who is next after Danica” subject.

Naturally the thread is going to be about Danica and who can do better.

Thats not misogyny. Some words get thrown around too often.
