The Summer Games of the 30th Olympiad - LONDON 2012

Abby Wambach on a penalty! Tied up at three.

Canada's had several chances to put this away but all the fouls they are committing have kept the United States in this.

USA WINS!

And that's gonna bite the Canadians for a long time, they played a much better team but penalties cost them bigtime.

As much as I'd like to get into the sport of soccer it just ain't happening. Women's beach volleyball however.....

I feel ya there. Unfortunately, the cold weather in London is causing them to cover way too much up this year. It's still pretty enjoyable though.

I've tried over the years to get into soccer, but there just isn't enough scoring. On top of that, the officiating is worse than in any sport I've ever seen (and I watch an awful lot of NBA games!). There seems to be no consistency at all to the penalty calls. Somebody gets punched in the face, it's ok, somebody gets accidently bumped in a way that does nothing to impede progress or give either player an advantage and it's a penalty. I just don't get it.

I can tell by your comments that you've put in a lot more effort than I at you attempt to follow soccer. :D I'm starting to winder if anyone other than Andy is following this sport. I am glad that he is enjoying it so much. Perhaps it is distracting him from his disdain for NASCAR somewhat?

Side note for Andy. If they played soccer @ Martinsville and served those hot dogs, I'd be there.

I don't know anything about diving but I'm pretty sure you don't do it like this.

I used to play soccer, so it's something I enjoy because of that.

Gotta go with Kessy and Ross in the thongyball or volley all game. They don't look as tattooed. Ross and Walsh look more fem, I like but they could probably slap me around with one hand behind their back.

The commentator keeps talking about the a game they played in the rain, proof there is a God

OK, I missed that one. Women's Beach Volleyball is quickly moving up on my list of favorite spectator sports. ;)

When am I going to get the WBV channel on DirecTV?

Hey Benelovent One, your girl Lolo sure is getting beaten up pretty badly in the media.
Yeah, I heard that. They're just jealous of what she and I have. ;)

I heard they called her the Anna Kournikova of track and field. That't not really fair. Anna never really won anything. Lolo has won multiple world championships as well as other events. She just hasn't done it in the olympics. Anna was simply well known for being incredibly hot. Lolo is hot and has been successful.

Refs in this game appear to not have any eyes. A lot of non-calls on both sides.

If Japan gets more chances, they could put four points on the board very quick.

At halftime, it's USA 1, Japan 0. US needs to step defense up though. There is a bright spot in defense and it's Hope Solo, she brought her A+ game.

Are you ****** ****TING ME? Yellow card for Abby Wambach. Egregious after the (albiet, unintentioal) head butt against her earlier.

Hmm... okay. That's why soccer is the most popular sport in the world and people only care about volleyball two weeks a year and, realistically, only watch to see women in bikinis.
I guess most people in this world are entertained too easily. ;) For me, soccer is of little entertainment.

Give me a choice free tickets to a women's soccer match or women's beach volleyball, I'd choose the latter hands down.
