The Walking Dead - Season 8

Ok people what's going on with this show?

I've been hearing a lot of super negative stuff from this show. I haven't started watching season 8 yet but I'm starting to think if it's even worth it?

This show has always gotten flak but it seems like this year it has gone overdrive. Even from the people who usually love the show. Has this show collapsed under it's own weight or overblown exageration?
As good as ever in this fan's eyes. I'm not sure what the negatives would be.

Looks like user reviews have steadily declined since season 5. I blame it all on Negan.. but that's just me.

User reviews on both Rottem Tomatoes and Metacritic is pretty bad. In the low 4s.

The first 3 episodes were terrible IMO.However, make it through those first 3 episodes and the rest of the season is pretty good and worth watching.

I wonder where the show will go now that Carl's been bit. Are they looking for a way out?

That kid cant catch a break. lol

I wonder if the actor just wants out.

I thought this had been posted before about dear ol' dad. Think I made a comment that now he'd have to get a job.
From what I know TWD plays it close to the vest and actors don't know they're getting the boot until they read the script.

He bought a house and was postponing college to do TWD. And his father was livid.
I guess he needs to rethink his priorities. Actors have an expiration date on this show. They just don't know when it is so I'm sure most times it comes as a complete surprise. I think he'll move on to bigger and better things and then his dad will be happy that his son's supporting him again.

I don't read the comics so his departure means nothing to me. Whatever direction he took the story vs. the route the televised version takes I wouldn't know the difference without other fans input.

Yeah, well, he isn't the only member of the cast that bought a house near the location.

I'll be taping (yes on DVR) season 5 Sunday. It starts at noon. I'm trying to get all of 1-5 so I can go back an watch a season without Negan.

So I'm still trying to understand the very final moment of last night's episode. Rick, leaning against a tree, bleeding. What the hell?

Was a lot of jumping around too, made it hard to follow. The Talking Dead kinda cleared that up a little. All in all I did enjoy the episode.

I did too. Couldn't stay up late enough to watch Talking Dead, so I plan on watching it today.

Watched it. Was never a big Carl fan. Hopefully the season will now kick into the next gear and get moving again.

Morgan, man, wth? Disembowel through the bullet hole. There are many ways to die on this show. Even so, we're introduced to a new one occasionally. 'A' for effort Morgan! Man, there is no turning back from that one. Officially over the other side of that line.

The ending has me also scratching my head. Then again, I often do with this show.

Definitely a WTF moment right there.

'Walking Dead' suffers worst midseason premiere ratings in show's history

“The Walking Dead” suffered its lowest midseason premiere ratings in the show’s history.

Nielsen Live + Same Day reported the AMC drama, which is in its eighth season, had a 3.6 ratings in adults 18-49 with 8.3 million total viewers on Sunday. The numbers represent the lowest midseason premiere in the show's history, Variety reported.

However, viewership was slightly up from the show’s December midseason finale, which earned a 3.4 ratings in adults and 7.9 million total viewers.

Even with dismal midseason premiere numbers, the popular zombie-killing drama remained the top show on television Sunday. The episode beat out the Pyeongchang Olympics Closing Ceremony on NBC, according to Deadline.

Fans are dropping like flies. Season 7 & 8 haven't been to my taste, but I've been watching anyway. Lots of people said they weren't going to watch if Carl dies... all those comic book readers. The newer fans don't care. And they are still #1. Just shows how popular they once were.

Carl's loss isn't going to affect my devotion to the show. I couldn't care less what he did/didn't do in the comics. He didn't add much to the televised version as time's moved on IMO.

Makes no difference to me how others view the show. I'll probably be a fan up until the point they're all Walking Dead.
