I love pictures like this one and how you can see the driver trying to actually hug the inside line with his head almost touching the window net through the apex.

The seat belts are better now and they drivers can't move around like that any more for good reasons. But it was still fun to watch, like a piece of art that captures the driver locked in and willingly the car through the corners.
 
Thats a good one and I had never seen the pin stripe paint on the Petty blue scheme before either.
My guess is that the "Hart Fullerton Plymouth" L.A. dealership sponsorship was a one off deal for the Riverside race only and the pin stripe was just to enhance the lettering.

Aside from that I know they painted the numbers on the cars back in the day and the pinstriping was probably painted on as well. I don't know if decal stickers were a thing yet in 1967.
