NASCAR has some lightyears away in safety tech since 2001. Theres a textbook amount of information to complain about but what they’ve instituted for driver safety is not one of them. I don’t believe the drivers are indestructible now in these ****pits but in little way is the sport on borrowed time for driver health.
Nothing new. Driver mentality is the same as it ever was. Even Rusty had to bring the Cup guys back down to reality in 1994 after Bonnett’s death. Racing at Daytona and Dega will always be volatile.
