I don't think much at all of Kevin Harvick as a person. Hell of a driver, but yeah. He's technically correct that the Dillon boys don't seem very interested in "paying their dues", but neither do any of the other young guns. Given how competitive things are now, I don't think they could get away with having that approach anyway. There is no patience on any level, and it's perform now or else. Harvick is the last driver who deserves any sort of deference as some kind of gentleman racer. Give me a freaking break. Same with Smoke. Those two were as big of careless "punks" for more years than any of the new faces have been around.
The other problem is this "rich kid" stuff. Look, auto racing is a sport with a high barrier of entry that lends itself to nepotism, and almost everyone who makes it to the NASCAR level had a family connection or big economic push from a wealthy benefactor to get there. I've seen too many ultra-talented working class drivers get left behind at the local level and rich kids advance whether they perform or not to believe otherwise. Sure, there are degrees, and some have to fight for it more than others. But almost every Cup or Nationwide driver grew up at bare minimum upper middle class. It's a pretty absurd to hear megamillionaires who buzz around in private jets to and from their $6.4 million vacation homes (http://msn.foxsports.com/nascar/sto...ly-2M-less-than-previous-sale-49636765#!mNmpm) bemoan the rich kids who are invading their turf.
Harvick started it under caution... and don't forget the brake check... not a good idea at M'Ville lolYou're absolutely right. My biggest problem with Ty Dillon today was that he had the nerve to completely destroy two of his grandfathers racecars. Regardless of what Kevin Harvick(a proven a**hole) does, you have to show some respect to someone so important to your past, present, and future. Either way though.. You're right. I haven't forgotten about the bull**** Harvick has done or said in his career.
^ You and me both
Either way Harvick didnt behave like the pro he thinks he is and was probably very surprised when Ty retaliated. I enjoyed the whole deal very much. BTW I have a very deep rooted dislike for mr Harvick and all bullies like him. Harv expects to be able to bump folks out of the way all day long without anyone doing the same to him. I dont care if Ty did run over him for no reason.
If you're blocking a faster car, especially at a place like Martinsville then you should expect to get dumped. Furthermore when has Ty ever done that? He's a clean racer and certainly not the spoiled brat Harvick made him out to be. Kudos to Ty for standing up to Harv, who's been a bully for years.
So if you can't pass a guy clean or with a bump you should just wreck him?
No I'm not advocating wrecking the guy but Harvick's been around long enough to know how the game is played, especially on a short track like Martinsville. He's been on the other end of that sort of deal plenty of times and he's wrecked/dumped a long list of guys over the years. So I don't really know why he needed to go a cry about it afterwards and take a couple of personal cheap shots while he was at it. Harv's the real punk here, not Ty.
Quite a bit... I just remember thinking "IDIOT!!" LMAO "Deserves it."How much did you laugh when Kyle got parked for the Hornaday incident?
That's just Harvick feeling disrespected by a kid. I don't really like Harvick but I like that he's prone to some entertaining temper tantums.
You can call it PUNKASCARI'm gonna call everything NASCAR does "punk ass" until I hear Kevin Harvick actually say "punk ass".
Prob the funniest thing you've ever came up withYou can call it PUNKASCAR
Ya know I've watched the interviews several times. When does Harvick say "punk ass kids"? He only said "got them kids". NASCAR's headline reports he said "punk ass".
Yeah that is some bull.Prob the funniest thing you've ever came up with
As a journalism major I find it truly sickening that NASCAR is putting words into driver's mouths
That's what I said lol.. It all could have been avoided had Harvick only been able to drive faster than Ty.Honestly I can use Jeff Gordon's words here. "Speed up and you won't have that problem".
Well he just finished saying it was the heat of the moment and he shouldn't have said it and apologized to RCR. It kind of seemed like a plea of "Don't screw me out of a cup please!"One things I will say about Harvick is that he tells it exactly as he as sees it. I like that.
Harvick gains himself another enemy...what else is new.
Well Austin is the one taking over Harvicks ride next season. Unofficially of course.Make that two enemies. It's one thing to bitch about an incident in the race. But what unHappy said will cut very deep with the Dillon boys. I doubt it will ever be forgotten by them.
They'll both be racing in the Cup series in the next few years. It should be fun to watch.... feud for life!
Harvick throwing Austin into his rant was pretty funny considering Austin wasn't even in the damn race. lol
Newman is taking over Harvick's ride. If Austin was going to Cup, it would have been announced by now. He's going to spend another year in Nationwide.Well Austin is the one taking over Harvicks ride next season. Unofficially of course.
lol, the anti-Harvick people having a field day.
Dillon wouldn't have caught Kyle lolJust for the record, I'm not anti-Harvick or pro-Dillon. I call em' like I see em'.
Just imagine how this place would have lit up by the anti-Kyle people had Kyle been the one that tangled with Dillon. lol
If you watch the in car from Harvick it seems like he did. Definitely wasn't on the gas and slowed very suddenly... but its hard to tell if that's when Crafton got into Ty or not.Why all this talk about " He brake checked me "? Because Ty said it. The plain fact is only one person knows for sure and that is Harvick.
If Ty had not said that none of you would even be talking about it.
I would expect to see his foot over the pedal getting to the corner. But as you say it's hard to tell.If you watch the in car from Harvick it seems like he did. Definitely wasn't on the gas and slowed very suddenly... but its hard to tell if that's when Crafton got into Ty or not.
Yeah.. hard to tell, also.. I really don't see Harvick being stupid enough to do that. That's a clear and cut way to end exactly as it did. Even regardless of any of that.. Dillon had the line and Harvick cut down on him. The line Harvick was running it was almost like he was trying to start something.I would expect to see his foot over the pedal getting to the corner. But as you say it's hard to tell.
lol, the anti-Harvick people having a field day.
How much did you laugh when Kyle got parked for the Hornaday incident?
Let me start of by saying that I am a Kyle fan as well, and I mean no disrespect by this at all, but damn your posts have me cracking up. The irony. It seems like everything you are complaining about with Harvick is something Kyle has done numerous times in the past, or something he would do under similar circumstances. Why the dislike for someone that has the same style as your favorite driver?
As for the incident, hell no Harvick shouldn't be parked. Theres been much worse happen than this with no consequences. The incident wasn't a huge deal, it's being blown up because of the comments afterwards. Harvick was pissed, and said some things he probably shouldn't have. Childress has been with Harvick for how long now? Surely he knows he's a hot head and knows how he is when he gets angry. Childress isn't going to fire Harvick. What's that going to prove? Nothing. Hell, the two have probably already talked and hugged it out.
Kyle doesnt go around choking people and acting like a bully .............simple as that.
Everyone gives Harvick a wide berth on the track ........ They are scared of him
The only difference is Kyle does his bullying on the race track, not off. Kyle would get his ass whopped by 90% of the drivers in NASCAR, that's why he doesn't go around choking people. Lol
Harvick started it under caution... and don't forget the brake check... not a good idea at M'Ville lol
