As a flat-footer, I loved Fontana from start to finish.
I think this car is going to be great for the sport.

#16 too.Loved it I was skeptical of smaller teams keeping pace but the 8, 43, 99 showed they can compete
Yeah, what's with the overheating? Did the 23XI cars boil over, or just JGR?Fabulous....and WE suck right now.
I think just JGR...but that wasn't all....Denny said that they couldn't suck up like everybody else, and he was defeated early. After one huge pitstop it was a forgone conclusion that the places gained would once again be lost...and Gabehart confirmed that pessimism. There is an issue here. Gonna take some medicine here.Yeah, what's with the overheating? Did the 23XI cars boil over, or just JGR?
They’ll figure it out. Growing pains. And, I think the last couple years we’ve seen that TRD’s biggest weakness is their sim software. Given their resources, I think they’ll get a grip on it.Fabulous....and WE suck right now.
Yeah, I think *sucking up* is really only significant for a few laps, but most of the fast cars were making passes by throwing it into the corner.I think just JGR...but that wasn't all....Denny said that they couldn't suck up like everybody else, and he was defeated early. We will see, or it will be a struggle. I can take it. Everybody had the same shot. Why do you think they lack in the sim software? Jazzy is one of the best in the business...that's why they chased him to come back when Pearn left. They’ll figure it out. Growing pains. I'm so happy to say that it FEELS like race issues can be fixed by handling again.

To follow up on my last comment, I think this is a lesser issue. I think they just missed the balance. This car seems all about handling again. Kyle Busch, the favorite, dropped like a rock until he lost it. Car was handling horribly, super loose, and I believe he he said it felt as if the right front wasn't low enough. We will see, or it will be a struggle. I can take it. Everybody had the same shot. Bad engineering.I think just JGR...but that wasn't all....Denny said that they couldn't suck up like everybody else, and he was defeated early. Bad engineering.
WE missed. I love the fight.....when the playing field is level.Bad engineering.
It's called parityWE missed. I love the fight.....when the playing field is level.
They better do something fast. If they couldn't handle the dust in California, they sure as hell won't be able to in VegasWE missed. I love the fight.....when the playing field is level.
maybe use 20 inch rims so they can drive on the rim back to the pitsWhy can't these tires have inner liners? Goodyear makes a runflat street tire in a very low profile, so why can't they do something similar with a racing slick? With the bigger brake package, is there room to go down an inch in wheel size, which will allow a beefier sidewall?
Stars of the show. Suarez didn't show up until late but Reddick and Jones were up front all day, and Stenhouse for a large part of it. I'm not fond of the enforced parity of plate races but this car evens the field in ways that hopefully will shake up the standings across all types of tracks.I doubt the 99, 43 or the 8 had the raw power or aero advantages the best ford's and chevies did. But they obviously handled exceptionally well.
Did you see P&Q? 10 cautions (not counting stage breaks) was LESS than I anticipated. Most of them were single car. If NASCAR will solve the flat tire problem so a tow truck isn't needed, the length of the cautions will be shorter.I will say though I’m a little concerned about the amount of cautions today. 12 at Auto Club? I am all for this car, but I think they may need to replace every track that isn’t in top shape. Just too many cars snapping loose which could get dangerous
I think it will be a lot like the COT early years. The top teams will figure it out and gap the field, but I think you'll have a lot of mid to your teams have races like this. Not every week, but you may see someone unexpected in the top 10 rather frequentlyStars of the show. Because the 18 sucked out loud in the era of setting up the car based on sim instead of practice. I could have sworn that I heard or read comments from KyBu and others that the car drove nothing like the sim. This is completely anecdotal on my part and I cannot provide a link/source.We will see, or it will be a struggle. I can take it. Everybody had the same shot. Same. Like I said, I'm ready to call up the ticket office at Charlotte for the 600. I'd NEVER do that again under the old car and 550 package.Like what I'm seeing however Daytona is Daytona and Auto Club is a unique racetrack, multi groove and worn out. Vegas will give me a better idea but I think its a winner
The racing world is excited and that makes me happy. I'll see you in CharlotteSame. Like I said, I'm ready to call up the ticket office at Charlotte for the 600. I'd NEVER do that again under the old car and 550 package.
Cool. Thanks for being candid. So, here is the thing on that--just my two cents as well. Jeff Curtis (aka Jazzy) is big on sim development, and when FRR was absorbed by JGR, he went to Ganassi. Big loss. When Pearn bailed, and Small took over, he went out and got Jazzy back. Big gain. KB has bitched about the sim, but I am not sure that the sim is the issue so much as his interpretation of the sim is. He wants the seat time, and resents this new direction. While Kyle was bitching, Denny was winning, so I am not sure that the sim is the issue. TRD Salisbury is dedicated to the chassis and sim development. They have the resources (to your point), and I think they are fine in that area. I am not sure what the hell went on in race prep for Sunday, but next week has me very, very concerned. I don't know....It's always been NASCAR. The sport has ebbed and flowed in reaction to an unprecedented flood of information and technology. Never been one to advocate "good racing" as that is probably different for many. Appreciate what you see understanding that it will likely change. Constantly evolving....and it should.Hell man. Yesterday felt like a NASCAR race again.
