What should Chads penalty be CHEATING AGAIN?

I don't understand the monetary penalty but I'm glad everything else was overturned. NASCAR was stupid to even try to pull a stunt like this in the first place.

Marty Smith @MartySmithESPN
Asked why the 100k find stood, both Hendrick & Knaus urged we talk to NASCAR. We did. They said it's proof the car wasn't right.

Translation: We had the little bastard and we screwed it up.

Maybe the fine was for the comments at Talladega.

That was my theory. NASCAR couldn't find what Chad was trying to hide, then one of those engineers Hendrick lost to another team ratted them out. But NASCAR got excited and someone tried to show off their keen eye and didn't follow procedure.

thats why big H fought this

Are some of you really stupid enough to think that Rick bribed someone? I really hope not.

That wasn't my point at all. What I was implying was that the fine could have been a cool million and they would have gladly paid it and walked away. The points penalty was what hurt. On the other hand, $100K to Robby Gordon or Carl Long is a deal breaker.

Here is how I see it.

The 48 car was presented for inspection. It failed inspection. (That's not unusual in NA$$CAR.) They will have an opportunity to correct their failures and re-present the car. I am relatively certain that the car will pass the second inspection.

Why should there be ANY penalties at all? It was not a post-race violation. It was not an after-qualifying violation. It was a simple failure to pass the initial tech inspection, for Dog's sake! The car has not even been on the track!!!

NA$$CAR screwed the pooch on this one...

Darby and Pemburton should be forced to stand up in front of all of the drivers, owners, crew chiefs and fans and tell them that they effed up and that they are sorry for putting HMS thru this. THEN, Helton and France should offer to reimburse Rick Hendrick for the money he spent defending himself (and paying off the final arbitrator too!) :p

J/K about that "paying off" part.

lol ok I am sure they are not reading my post here and taking it as help. I have only been watching nascar for 8 years or so,some of you have been watching for 50 like my fater-in-law. and know a lot more than I do. I was just throwing my thoughts out there..

I DO hope that you were taught to respect your elders, young man!!!

Just saw you mention them NOT getting the car on the track.

If they didn't fine someone for bringing a cheated up car to the race well think if they knew they could bring a cheated up car to the race and if it got caught before the race it would be fine nothing happen to them and hey if it doesn't get caught you could end up cheating your way to the win

Yeah, but was the car even "cheated up"?

And pushing the limits of the rule book is as old as NA$$CAR!

I honestly think it was, go back to Dega where he made the comment about the car and this car supposedly was that same car right? Tell me how that doesn't sound fishy and like something is up hmm?

C'mon. Really?? Chadski is a master baiter! He effing knew the camera was on! He effing looked right at it! If you think that Chad wasn't baiting the media (and the competition) then you are just , I dunno...

:D

No in fact I like Jr and Kahne and heck I've even found myself cheering for Gordon. But if any of them three had a cheated car I'd say okay fine them even if it was Jr. People turn blind eyes when there favorite does something.

Looks like Chad is getting away with one, this time. He's a repeat offender and most things never change. I don't think that this is the last chapter for Chad but congrats to you Chad and Jimmie fans out there! Chad is probably sporting a cheshire cat smile about now. :D

NASCAR tried to pull a fast one to get even with Chad for his comments at Talladega but HMS had the documentation and proof needed to call them out on it. I think it's funny as hell.

Darby walks up and looks at the car and says "No good" after it had passed 4 times......and passed at the tech center? No way. HMS lost a top engineer, and Darby was tipped off. He couldn't resist the urge to show off, and failed to follow procedure. He should have waited until AFTER the car qualified or practiced, then documented the dimensions before letting them rip it off.

This Rick? Nah, he'd never do something as bad as bribery.

I forgot all about that. I wonder if the other manufacturers will ask for a new guy to replace whateverbrook
