World of Outlaws 2019

Needs to keep doing that to cut into Schatz point lead

It's been back and forth, back and forth lately. Many of these recent races have frankly come down to who wins the dash draw and thus starts up front. There have been a lot of one leader, one-groove-ish race tracks. Last night at Dodge City was pretty good and racey back through the field.

Schatz really excels at limiting damage and grinding out a decent finish when he doesn't have a particularly fast car. With the WoO points scale being very flat, he's really hard to beat on consistency. Sweet is still right there though.

New car seems to run ok first time out. :D

Was gonna go to this but went out to eat instead. They ran 305s and Dirt Trucks is the 410 feature was last. It’s like Martinsville for stock cars so anything other than sprint cars is a **** show and winds up making for a long night

They are back at it tonight at Jacksonville Speedway in Illinois. Nice to see the car count back up at 36 with no other major events tonight. Makes for a much fuller program. Logan Seavey will be starting on the pole of the dash in a rare winged start for him.

About everything happened in this race. Good one. The 17 didn't have any problems with rear bite.:D

That is one fun and treacherous little track. Young Sheldon gave one away there. He tried like hell to get it back, but too hard. Macedo drove a smart race. Sweet second, Schatz fourth.

Sweet charges from 17th to 6th and takes the point lead by 4 over Schatz, the way it's going title will come down to Charlotte

The rain last night meant the track was really juiced and super fast and narrow early on, meaning there was almost no passing in the heats. It was better for the features, as USAC Silver Crown cars did time trials and helped widen it out. But Schatz could never find the speed he needed. Big night in the championship for Sweet if he can keep it going tonight at Lernerville.

Also nice to see Schuchart win at Eldora after a lot of second place runs there.

Major development tonight. Sweet and Schatz started the feature side by side on the front row and dueled early. Sweet always led, but Schatz kept making runs and was probably a tick faster. Sweet found a way to hold on, and about halfway through, something went bad with Schatz's motor. He pulled in, but they couldn't get it fixed. Sweet wins and Schatz finishes 18th.

Agreed. Wouldn't happen in almost any other form of racing for understandable reasons, but I like the way the WoO teams support each other.

Williams Grove tonight and tomorrow for the National Open, and the Saturday winner gets $65,000. 53 cars showed up, will be some good shows.

Definitely the strongest field of 410 sprints that have been assembled since the Knoxville Nationals in August. The best of WoO, All-Stars, and Posse together. David Gravel had them covered tonight and didn't even look to be working that hard in the feature. Lance Dewease chased down Schatz for second. Sweet had to come through the B, started 20th and drove to 10th to minimize the points damage.

Huge upset as Brent Marks wins the National Open and $65,000. He hasn't won a race all season, and didn't even make the A-Main last night. Suddenly found speed tonight and drove a solid race to withstand pressure from Daryn Pittman. Schatz was third and a fast Aaron Reutzel in fourth.

Not something you will see very often with that big of a surprise in a crown jewel race.

A thriller tonight at TSS Haubstadt as Christopher Bell takes the win with his new car. Sheldon Haudenschild came all the way from the back after going to the work area to finish second. Sweet fourth, Schatz 13th.

Racing tonight from Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, KS, which is back and fully recovered from the major flooding earlier this year. I used to attend this track every week, it is by far the track I've been to the most.

Lakeside got a nice mention this week on NBCSN's NASCAR America show.

The highlights won't show it, but they had a heck of a time getting the feature started. Two aborted starts and a pile-up occurred before they got a lap in, and then there were a few other incidents that made this one of the longest races of the season by duration. It was very racey during the middle portions once they got going. Donny Schatz chased down the lead after starting fifth, and there was a lot of back and forth through the entire field. Track was well prepped.

Schatz wins for the first time with an honest to God Ford engine under the hood, in its third race. He cuts into Sweet's point lead slightly, as Sweet finished third. Sweet now leads by 24 points with five races to go.

Unless something drastic happens this title Chase will come down to Charlotte.

David Gravel wins the Jason Johnson Memorial at Lake Ozark after battling back and forth with Sheldon Haudenschild for most of the race. The track was very fast but still racey, good stuff. Sweet fourth, Schatz eighth, points lead back to 32.

It's always a good show when the Outlaws hit PA to battle the Posse. 52 cars in the pits tonight at Port Royal.

Schatz took a big bite out of the points gap by winning tonight by winning while Sweet finished 12th. Anthony Macri was coming for Schatz at the end, but needed another lap or two. Sweet's lead is down to 8, and he will need a big save tomorrow at the same track, as Schatz is always good there. Everything went his way tonight, including the dash draw.

Glad DD is ok after that crash hes really had tough luck lately with failures.

Racing the rain today at Port Royal so rare afternoon show

So ready to head down to Charlotte early Thursday, looks like it will be clear but cold all 3 nights.

Heads up to anyone going they flexed the schedule to earlier due to the cold

There have been rumors for months that Gravel wants to transition to NASCAR and may be next year, and the Jeff Gordon involvement at Knoxville fueled that further. Here's what Gravel had to say about it on a live chat last month:

"Up in the air". Sounds like he wants to go NASCAR if possible and that he isn't sure if Jason Johnson Racing will be able to continue or not. That's such a tough move to make, even at his age of 27. Personally I wish he'd stay in sprints, but I wish him well if he does land a ride. Very solid and professional driver.

One of the Posses best is making the haul down

Just picked up our tickets and pit passes place is packed already
