World of Outlaws 2024

Rico outduels Gravel in the closing laps to take the win tonight. Good back and forth battle between those two with several lead changes. Schuchart third, and Schatz comes from 25th to 4th after having to take a provisional. Larson barely made the show through the B and finished 13th.

Rico looking good again tonight. Quick time, 4th to 1st in heat race.

David Gravel wins a thriller and puts his stamp on the weekend by winning his first King's Royal after a torrid battle late with Donny Schatz, who led after starting 20th. Justin Peck third, Shark Racing fourrh and fifth with Schuchart and Allen.

Great, great race.

Well the High Rollers get one over the Outlaws tonight at BAPS as JMac takes the win. Brad Sweet and Gio had a ugly looking crash when Sweet lost the brakes.

None of the other Outlaws have anything for David Gravel right now. He has separated himself big time. It's unfortunate that he and Sweet can't be competing for the same title.

Gravel wins again, ahead of Haudenschild and Macedo. Was fun to watch Stewart Friesen make his run on the bottom. He just misses the podium and finishes fourth. Weedsport is a unique track, there were a lot of different lines being employed in the feature.

Larson wins in thrilling fashion at Pevely after starting 21st. McFadden looked like he had it wrapped up, but lapper Noah Gass slid up the track right in front of J-Mac off turn 2 on the final lap, and Larson stole the lead off turn 4. Sheldon finishes third.

Larson sweeps the weekend, this time coming from 12th. Very strong showing after the recent struggles. Schatz second, Macedo third. Corey Day was mixing it up with them at the front before he got screwed by a lapped car.

I'm gonna whine a little.

It sucks how far we've fallen behind California, and chances are, we never catch back up again (and even most of our stalwarts were imports).

It feels like there's never going to be a Next Great PA driver.

Like I said in another section, Larson is the reason Tony Stewart quit sprint car racing. When Larson was suspended, ran a bunch of sprint car races, and won all kinds of them, Stewart saw that he's not the second coming of AJ Foyt like he wanted to be. It's impressive each time he goes out and beats the guys that do it 80+ time a year.

Stewart won his first of 2 Chili Bowls in 2002. Larson won his in 2020, ya think age might have something to do with it lol.

The track is much, much better tonight. The fast cars are going to be able to pass in the heats. Fast qualifier Daryn Pittman just went 8th to 1st in the first heat race, which does not happen often.
