SHR files suit against Nature's Bakery for breach of contract

I didn't want to see her forced out, but I did want to see her step up to a microphone and admit that NASCAR wasn't her place to be. If she had a stellar open wheel record then maybe, but she is here because she is a female and brought big money to the table.

That tells me SHR knew full good and well that Nature's Bakery couldn't make the committment...... but went forward...
When your the only customer they had no choice but make the sale.
I think SHR is on shaky ground financially and after 2017 they will have 2 cars fully funded.
You just can't run a race business with fire sales.

The American Yoga Association, whatever protein powder she’s using at the moment and/or the clothing company her name is on can surely finance her participation in NASCAR events for years to come.

I'm sure this is already been said and revolted plenty of people but I gotta believe that since she's in her mid-thirties now her marketability is considerably less then it was even five years ago.

You can't. ...but this company is definitely not on shakey ground financially. The influx of money from Ford was huge for them and if they win and get a settlement from NB which may take years, and find another sponsorship they might be doing better off anyway.

I thought this was a bad dream. Its real. I have to feel a new sponsor will come on board. I really believe in Billy and DP and FORD!

Seriously though KTM....I wonder what car will be on track for ;tona for the 10....whoever it is will get a bunch of free exposure that they were planning on.

My pick:

obv not the "godaddy logo" lol

NB signed a legal document. They are trying to weasel out of it. I can't see this going in anyway except SHR's.

I agree they have a contract and it should be honored. But I doubt that SHR gets full payment, most likely a watered down settlement if anything.

My guess is they get nothing from NB. NB sold a portion of the business. Bet the lawyers already figured this **** out. They never have gotten full payment if I'm reading the articles correctly.

My guess is TaxAct then a few Haas Automation. I'd say 5 races max before they pull the plug if no sponsor steps up.

As much as I love DP and want to see her race, this is a money driven industry. I'm not gonna think about the future. Thanks for the civil discussion. Its REALLY distressing to think of your fav having issues like this.

Guess i misunderstood the word CONTRACT? Legal and binding contract. The lawyers will decide if it was "guaranteed" I suppose.

There are all sorts of legitimate and illegitimate reasons why contracts can't be fulfilled.

One of the articles mentions NB sold a portion of company. New "owners" have control of the purse strings. The sale may well be what saves their bacon. It's not the same business as SHR initially signed with. Lawyers will get rich...

Don't know the details of sale, better yet I only know as much you mentioned. Still the same buying or gaining ownership includes all of the legal obligations as well.
I think they are on the hook for at least paying something.

But spending 20 million on KB wasn't "throwing it out the window"? How do you quantify worth? If you don't win championship it was money wasted?

Sponsoring your own team as a fill in for 3-6 races as a bridge is one thing but sponsoring your own team for 25 races is another.

They should still be obligated to act in good faith. A lot of supposition follows so take it with that mind.

I think they should have set down with SHR and told them they wanted to exit ASAP but peacefully as honourably as possible. Ask SHR to find an alternative while paying as contracted until the transfer.

If SHR chooses to litigate this issue to the end anything they would have received will have been eaten up in the cost of the litigation. Besides all NB has to do is file for bankruptcy and they are golden.

The nice thing for DP and her fans is that she is a brand that will always seek the spotlight whether she is cooking with Rachel Ray or hawking some product on QVC. It isn't like when Ricky Rudd retired and then disappeared.

Don't you get tired of flogging this dead horse. Just have nothing better to do than come into EVERY thread and spew venom? I. Don't Get. It.

You've been here since Tuesday. Maybe you'll figure Clarence out by next Tuesday ... probably not.

In the meantime, do you have nothing better to do than put up 40 posts in a 120 post thread while masquerading as both a lawyer and an economist?

SHR has a grand total of ONE car fully funded this season, the 4. Somehow they need to fill 20 races for the 14, 16 for the 41, and now 25 for the 10. No way they remain a four car operation. Sorry Clint, sorry Danica. This team drops a car or two sooner rather than later.

I can't find the details now...just this:

So what did I do to you? **** this place.

There are people here who don't like me, don't like some of what I post and don't like the way I post it. They make remarks like the one you made. The difference is that they have cause. You don't.

This place will survive nicely without either of us.
