Joey Logano vs. Kyle Busch

Yeah, if you are one who goes with the popular opinion. It's safe, I will give you that.
I'm one to buck the system, but Kyle has been an idiot since he started racing, he hasn't shown that to be any different over the years, he will go under the radar for a few months maybe a year....then boom out comes the true Kyle. He can wheel a car....no doubt, so can Joey, but both of them are punks and I don't see that changing any time soon.

Sure as hell hope you are right because if this is still a big deal, Joey made it worse (or better depending upon how you look at it), and I am not talking about just with Kyle. Kenny Wallace has addressed Joey's image issue in the garage. This is Kenny's perspective not mine. Yucking it up IF the fire is still hot probably won't go over well.
Does that slow the car down?

I duno all these years peowle keep saying he needs to change yet he still keeps putting up some of the best numbers in almost every category year after year.

:idunno:

If it aint broke dont fix it right?

Kyle Busch has been an idiot for years. Just go to YouTube and search him. There's one video that's over an hour long of him being an idiot and causing wrecks. So spare me the 22 bitching. Kyle needs his ass beat and the 22 has a ways to go before he catches up to Kyle in the race for the world's biggest idiot.

NASCAR does not penalize Kyle Busch, Joey Logano for Las Vegas altercation

NASCAR will not penalize Kyle Busch, Joey Logano or any crew member for the altercation after Sunday’s race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

NASCAR issued its weekly penalty report Wednesday and did not have Busch, Logano or any crew member from either team on the report.

News Analysis: Kyle Busch not penalized for Las Vegas fight

What happened: NASCAR’s penalty report from Las Vegas Motor Speedway contained no penalties of any kind for Kyle Busch, Joey Logano or any of their crew members following Sunday’s pit road fight.

What it means: Angry drivers are allowed to punch someone after a race, and NASCAR is going to embrace that emotion. If that seems like a change from recent years, welcome to the Monster Energy Era. Mixing it up on and off the track is exactly what the series sponsor wants, and apparently even fights are fair game. It’s nice to see NASCAR didn’t act in a hypocritical fashion and fine Busch while profiting from the publicity and using it to promote upcoming races.

News value (scale of 1-10): Six. It’s above average news for the reason it might set a new precedent for how NASCAR will react to such altercations.

Questions: How far can a driver go before getting penalized now? If Busch had injured Logano, would the situation be different? Should Busch get a gift card or something for all the attention he got for NASCAR this week?

That's because he has proven over and over again he is an asshat.
So by definition Dale Sr was too. Same attitude. "i didn't mean to wreck him, just rattle his cage". "They should suspend that guy" <because THAT GUY dared to do what Dale did 25 races a season, to Dale. Logano is the asshat. But some of you seem to WANT guys to knock their competitors out of the way INSTEAD of just finding another way around.

How is Logano the asshat? He races people how he wants to be raced. Not a hypocrite like Dale and Kyle.

Imo, the last 8 - 10 years has seen NASCAR drivers not like to rub fenders or get their cars dirty. If they even get raced to hard on lap 100 they get fussy.

Drivers like Keselowski and Logano have bucked that trend and are not afraid to stick a nose in a hole or go for it checkers or wreckers. That change of pace upsets the "dont touch me" drivers.

Its not so much about common denominators, its more about is rubbing racing? If you dont like banging fenders, chrome horns and going for it on the last lap - try open wheel.

So only on the last lap, or once it gets close to the end of the race? Cause I seen you get mad and start talking bad about a driver when someone spins out someone you like late in a race. Just, guess checkers or wreckers doesn't apply when it's a driver you like. :p

Theres a fine line between racing hard, taking the risk & wiping out yourself or another driver in the process of getting back to the line vs bulldozing through just to be an ass.

Heat of the moment I'll be annoyed. After a look at some replays & POVs I may have a change of heart.

Lol sorry. The forum is being glitchy on mobile for me atm :p
Well let's reply now.

Checkers or Wreckers is checkers or Wreckers. Me personally I rather someone just bump someone out the way over wrecking them any day. I know before I've approved of what Matt did to Joey but had a change of heart over it. But spinning someone could lead to something just as bad if they get hit hard by another car or anything like that. If someone won't move out the wreck put the bumper to them and move them up the track. Don't wreck them.

Just based on what I have read here it seems like the majority of fans are cool with post race altercations so in this case Nascar is giving the fans what they want. With Nascar being so inconsistent it will be interesting to see if they will continue to sit on their hands in similar situations and how any of this emboldens drivers to mete out frontier justice when they feel it is necessary.

Nascar is giving the drivers tremendous leeway as there are really no rules of engagement for starting an off track altercation other than one driver being mad at another driver even if that driver did nothing wrong.

What gets me about this entire thing is, if the roles were reversed, Kyle would have done the same thing as Joey, and Joey would have reacted the same way as Kyle. They've both done it before.

I thought it was a racing incident. But Logano had the opportunity to prevent it. Example: You are driving thru small town and somebody pulls out in front of you. Your choices are to brake to avoid accident or just hit them because you had "right-of-way'. My dad always said, 'last person that could avoid accident is at fault". I realize racing means there is no right-of-way. But IF Joey had cut a tire down on his own car, then got drilled in the door by an oncoming car resulting in an injury, would it be Joey's fault or the innocent guy following him? They are talking about this right now. IF Joey had rolled into the throttle instead of being so aggressive when under Kyle, he likely wouldn't have gotten loose. BUT IMO Joey didn't care if Kyle crashed. Not his problem. Dale Sr type of attitude. If you are in front of me. you are between me and the pay window. I'm gonna do whatever it takes to get in front of you. Absolutely doesn't care about other drivers. Respect is the word i use. I've seen it at local tracks. Once enough guys have had enough, that attitude will get adjusted. SOMEBODY will "accidently" run them over...my foot slipped off brake pedal.

Kyle did too. Slow down enough to let Joey by instead of door slam him out of preferred lane.
