Random NASCAR Stuff to talk about.....

Damn I hope Toyota wins soon so Nascar will leave the Fords alone.
Same old story for 40 yrs now except it used to be for GM.

yeah something like that. lol Petty has 2 top fives this year, both at plate tracks. I wonder how long their plate track luck will hold

An interesting and very well-written essay by Kaitlyn Vince. FWIW, I think Kaitlyn has been quietly doing very good work for Fox the last several years. I hated it when she first showed up on SpeedTV as a social media girlie, sort of a Rutledge Wood with with big hair and boobs. But she made the most of her springboard, IMO, and has done an admirable job with her expanding role at Fox. I was surprised to read that Supercross was new to her this year, because she did a great job in those SX broadcasts and seemed very well grounded in the sport. My conclusion: she works very hard and has smarts plus talent.

First person essay: Kaitlyn Vincie on her pregnancy journey
I went into last offseason thinking 2017 would be about planning a wedding with Blake, who is the car chief for Furniture Row Racing’s No. 78 team. But while we were ready to get married, we definitely weren’t in the right mindset to have a child. I could barely seem to keep plants alive at my home, much less fathom raising a kid.

However, there was a different plan for us than we anticipated. And I am certain now it’s the greatest turn of life events I could have hoped for....

How many rows up do you have to be at Bristol to see the whole track? What's the best seats/value at Bristol?

I have been to the Night race 6 times and have sat in 4 different locations and my personal favorite seating at the Bristol night race is in the middle of turn one and two about 15 to 25 rows or so up. You do not have to move anything but your eyes to see all and you are in the shade in the early part of the race. See below for how I feel about Bristol! :D

I liked the Kaitlyn Vincie story. Learn something new every day.
Glad she kept her pick in the Nascar family.

In this case I think it was a good move and the replacement will give the fans a better experience. Also good idea with the solar farm, I wish more companies would consider this.

I think most tracks should go to an open area where fans can mingle, watch the race, drink beer and eat food. Like Charlotte is doing with their renovation, kind of bring the bar atmosphere to the track. I believe thats the way viewing habits are evolving. I have been to Kentucky Speedway, cool place.

Rick says no talks with sponsors yet over who will drive the #88.
Hmmm. I wonder if the go-slow condition on #88 driver discussions might be bad news for Alex Bowman? It makes me wonder if Hendrick is waiting for developments on an external candidate, like availability or something...?

I haven't any doubt Hendrick is keeping his options open right now, Bowman or even Byron are under contract. But what would happen if somebody like Carl showed up with a couple of sponsors wanting to drive the 88 car? Or an F-1 or big name Indycar driver? Decisions I wouldn't want to make, but it could happen.

If money was involved, room would appear in the inn where there (their for our special friends) wasn't any before.

I wonder if Nationwide and Lowes will be sponsoring the 48 next year, isn't it a long time rumor that Lowes wanted to cut back?

Ehh, not really a rumor with any facts to back it up. Just speculation from outsiders like me.

It wouldn't surprise me if they cut back simply due to the current state of the company, but it sounds like they are at least sticking around to a certain degree with the 48 which is awesome to hear.

Hope they sponsor most if not all of the 48 as long as JJ/Chad are there. Truly one of the most legendary sponsor/driver combos ever

The first Chainsmokers song I ever heard was called "Selfie" and it was absolutely terrible. I thought to myself 'WOW these guys suck. Hope they enjoy their 15 minutes of fame'.....look at them now, LOL. Cranking out hit after hit after hit.

I actually like their music a lot (excluding the selfie song, of course)
