Ford Performance

Truex's bunch won the cup and they are laying down, You look at Harcick or KDB since 2014 and they are in the top 3 every year with the exception of one year where Harvick had an 8th and KDB had a 10th. Ain't no splitter gate or Fords sucking. Both have won a championship during that time.

Your wind tunnel bull**** rivals my Chase Spec bull****. Word. For. Word. ;)

Eh, I have always been on this side of things for better or worse. I know you know how to collect my posts. Take a look. As for the cheap young drivers....you get no argument from me. That team is suffering in a relative sense, and there is no going back. Keep in mind that Carl wasn't cut, he wanted to farm. As for Matt...I wish we had him back, no question. Denny? Don't start me....

Seriously? Come on man. SHR would have NEVER "found" it without that splitter, and you and I both know that. There is nothing wrong with it, but please save me the "effort equals results" stuff. NASCAR put in the "effort" and now they get the "results."

I do not agree. Kevin is about a tenth better than Kyle, and that isn't in the talent. NoWay. Kyle Busch flatters TRD and Toyota right now. Without him, you have Penske in JGR.
Found what without the splitter? Has Penske found it? Has Roush found it? What you and I both know is SH is head and shoulders above all the Ford teams and the results prove it.

Are you suggesting that SHR would be what they are without the new splitter rule? Please say, "No."

You mean the splitter that others were tampering with?

Damn straight. The one with "Ford" stamped on the bottom of it, or the one from last year Ford didn't like.

Wow. Ford people are certainly defensive. Why is it so hard to admit that NASCAR helped them? I don't have a problem with it. It's just reality. Balance of Performance NASCAR Cup style. I prefer this over spec. Honestly, are you making the case that Ford was anywhere near the zip code they are in now? Please say, "No."

I'm not a Ford guy in the slightest, just in the second half of last year they started to right their ship. That's all I'm saying.

NASCAR did level the playing field, I'm not going to disagree with that. Nobody wants to see a repeat of what Truex did last year in demolishing the field by damn near 4 to 5 seconds or more. The equalization of the front splitter made a difference, but I'm not out here crying for that. The only thing I want taken away is the tapered spacer, that's about the only thing I bitch about.

I honestly thought that Ford would get screwed this year. Didn't realize how far NASCAR would go to appease them. However, the ones that really got screwed in this deal was Chevy. I mean, holy ****, Toyota has a year with their car to work in the new Ford Package (now available with a pure Ford splitter), Ford has the Ford Package (now available with everything you need to make a **** car dominate), but poor Chevy has a car without development, and no help from NASCAR.....yet.

I hear you, but I am not talking about how they finish....I am talking about how they run/ran. This year is in no way, shape, or form development from last year. No. Freakin'. Way. You look at Harvick this year. Not leading the points. What, a couple of more wins than Kyle. His numbers don't do him justice. He has been lights out, and NOBODY is within a second of him every ****** week. NOBODY. Only Kyle Busch is the closest, and making things look okay because he is Kyle Busch.

Like it has been pointed out, Harvick has finished in the top 3 since 2014 except one year.

You literally cannot see what SHR has that makes their cars work as well as they do.

There is no Ford, Toyota or Chevy splitter

I would have agreed until this year. "Same for everybody," but very beneficial to one. Kinda depends on how you look at it.

No question, but what I love about this sport is that you can see what doesn't work on the Toyotas. Where is that picture of the mandated Ford....uh...NASCAR splitter?

It was only one part of the changes they made this year, they went to a common radiator, oil cooler and a flat splitter. The rumor mill said Truex's bunch was hampered with the flat splitter..got to have an excuse for not running well. Didn't affect KDB so it really doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Harvick has always been a hot shoe since he signed on with SHR

dude there were only two yotas, last year that were doing anything and two Fords in the top 4. Only one this year, and three Fords, you keep going around in circles. Truex is your problem.

Dude, the very post you quote says that I really don't care how they finish, I care about how they run. You can collect my posts from the beginning of last year (I know you can do this) when everybody was running their mouths about how bad MY Toyotas were, and I was just fine because they had speed. Harvick is 2-3 tenths better than everybody except for the best driver in this sport. He was that in 2014 for the same ****** reason. The other years, not so much. I mean, you know this sport better than this! There is nothing wrong with any of this except the denial. Damn, you are working hard.

there is your problem, he isn't the best, he might be leading the points, but it isn't decided who is the best. He was second best last year BTW.

Dear God, this is not about finishes, this is about how they run. Harvick 2-3 tenths better than everybody but KB.

I will admit....I trolled ya right there. Thought you might look past it. You didn't disappoint.

Having said that.....second best in a Championship you don't believe in, right?

Your Toyota bias is clouding your judgement.

you haven't been making sense for awhile on this thread :p Probably need to switch from MY TRD powered Toyotas to My TRD powered Toyota.:D

I want to say this publicly....and with @TexasRaceLady listening. I really enjoy these type of exchanges @StandOnIt. Makes the sport more fun. I hope you have taken every post in the spirit in which I intended it--friendly, spirited, and passionate barbing. You know this sport way better than me. You make me think. You challenge my bias. In this, I thank you. Now, let's get 100,000 of our closest friends to join us at the track!!!!!!

He did? Kyle Busch had an awesome finish to the season and only lost by .2 at Homestead

My understanding is that the new laser tech inspection better enforces areas that perhaps the Toyota’s were previously taking more advantage of.

It’s not that it has helped the older Ford’s but just leveled off any extra gains being made there by the other manufacturers.

Although, I still think Roush-Yates engines are the best in the business right now. I’m not a Ford guy either, FYI

some who who the inspection procedures, but Nascars run over 200 MPH all day long, cornering speeds faster than F-1 on average, try to figure out the aero when a pack is bumper to bumper at 200 MPH compared to one at a time F-1 or Indycar. Metal surfaces are to be within 150 thousands of an inch to be in tolerance, glass to within 200 thousands of an inch and they will pass. The ECU's are supplied by McClaren and they are running as fast as ever with 12% less downforce this year and common radiators, oil coolers and splitters and they have reduced the fly away speed by 30 MPH. They have the best in the world working in the series IMO.

Let me get this straight.....the TRD fans complaint is that the new inspection process that forced everyone to comply with measurements mandated by NASCAR, obviously equals out or removes the advantage the TRD cars had and now the Fords are running better is a conspiracy by NASCAR? Other than the 4, I think the rest are still working to keep up with the 18 and the 42 (whenever they learn to consistently close the deal).

Oh, and wasn’t it last year the Fords started out strong and they took something away so they weren’t worth a **** until near the playoffs? Karma maybe? We shall see.....

....and in that, it helped Ford. If I have three manufacturers, and the waste of money OSS takes something away from two of them, you have helped the third have you not?

Let me get this straight.....the Fords were the only manufacturer complying with measurements mandated by NASCAR, therefore this has been no big deal for them? The Fords aren't better. Everybody else is worse. BTW.....I don't think the inspection processes are nearly as big of a deal as that splitter with the Ford logo on it.
No worries about Ford having something taken away. Legend says that TRD started doing something that couldn't be measured. Rest assured, Ford have always followed the rules, and now they reap the benefits. SMDH.
Honesty is the best policy. You are a true fan.
Thank you.

No, the Ford cheating was not as effective as the TRD. So when the inspection became WAY more consistent and less tolerable, the TRD cheating was negated more. And the Ford cheating was probably more mechanical like the “loose” spring mounts or whatever it was that cucumbered Joey’s win last year and pretty much neutered the 2 until late in the season.

Wow what another great showing for the Blue Oval!!! Man they are so fast everywhere right now! This is our year!!! 7 different winners from the camp 7 playoff drivers in the top 12 and 16 wins so far keep digging boys!!!

reminds me of back in the day with the Thunderbirds, our joke at the time was how do you slow down the Fords.

Tie the 3 car to their bumper!!
