SILLY SEASON 2019

Anything confirmed on Briscoe yet? I’d like to see him get away from that #60 dumpster fire. More gigs with SHR hopefully.

I’m still not sure why Truex didn’t make a deal to take over the 41 car when Kurt leaves for Ganassi at the end of the year. I think he would have a much better support system at SHR than he will get at Jibbs.
SHR needs to get some fresh meat in at least one of their cars. Almirola is their youngest driver and he's, what? 32, 33?

Yeah 34, nothing official yet but the rumor is that he will be full time SHR Xfinity next year...I'm sure they're waiting on sponsorship.

On a side not he "talked" to me on reddit the other day. It was cool

Rumors were that Haas had a good offer for Pearn and Truex, they chose to go with the preacher.

Well they also have 12 wins in 34 races and each driver has a win. So it hard to say what they're doing isn't working

Oh, agreed, but they'll lose all that experience relatively soon. If they lose it all at about the same time, they'll have no one to assist the new kids. I've wondered if part of the problem at Hendrick is the ratio of experienced drivers to relative newcomers.

If I'm a guy like Ty Dillon, why would I want to run 25th-30th every week in a RCR satellite car that isn't actually RCR on race day or having a shot to win once in a while in NXS running full time?

I think lousy race cars has a lot more to do with Hendricks's issues than who is driving them. Those Texas cars were just turds.

CGR has announced Ross Chastain full time in the 42 Xfinity car... live on presspass right now. DC Solar to sponsor.

Question: Ross, tell us how this feels.

Ross: I'm trying not to throw up, frankly, I'm so excited.

That car will be in the running for the championship.

Kurt Busch live on presspass...

CGR is not there. The CGR tablecloth from the previous Ross Chastain presser was replaced by a Monster Energy drape. No comment - yet - about 2019.

Edit: Kurt has nothing to say about 2019, still trying to get things all lined up.

Why announce a presser to say nothing is set yet? Did something fall through since it was announced?

It apparently was just a standard race weekend "media availability." Chase Elliott has one later today. So does Kyle Busch. No big deal. The schedule gets published and someone... me... thought it might be a news announcement, so I tuned in.

One item of possible interest...
4 PM ET... Jimmie Johnson & Fernando Alonso

Shouldn't Alonso be in Brazil?

My guess is CGR will have Jamie back in the 1 full time if somehow Kurt wins the title or something which is doubtful.

Jaime is not coming back either way. Jaime wants to drive in the 500 and I'm certain Chip will make it happen for him. I think Chip said he's more than happy to get Jaime in the 500.

I expect Jaime to be in sports cars come next season IMHO, but his full-time NASCAR career is over honestly.

Chip said they are working on a full-time ride for JHN. I hope he isn't blowing smoke but if he can run both Chastain and JHN together, CGR will be everyone's favorite team... except for Harvick lol

Xfinity has been great nearly all year long and it looks to get even better in 2019.
There are already six drivers I would give a legit shot at the championship:
Custer in the #00
Allgaier in the #7
Bell in the #20
Reddick in the #21
Cindric in the #22
Chastain in the #42

Possibly Nemechek as well if GMS hires him to drive the #23

I'm happy for Ross, but just me I'd rather see JHN in that car. Both have definitely earned it and neither are a bad choice
In the press conference, Chip Ganassi said he'd love to field a second Xfinity car for John Hunter Nemechek. He doesn't have funding for it, but seemed to imply he was working on it. My takeaway: Don't hold your breath.

They didn't have a full time driver in the 42 car this year they used 5 drivers, 2017 either. So this is pretty big to go all out full time with Chastain instead of cuppers and full timers mixture. If his battle with Harvick is any indication, he is going to give some of those cuppers hell next year. I think Chastain is going to be running hard hoping for a cup ride

For some reason I prefer Chastain, but I probably would have posted the same thing if JHN had landed the seat.

Absent an engine failure, a parts failure, a tire failure, a speeding penalty, a crew member penalty, or a competitor taking Harvick out, he is most likely going to win at Phoenix. NASCAR wants that to happen so they can have their Big Three showdown at Homestead.

I'd be surprised if JHN isn't in an Xfinity car full time unless GMS wants to have Justin Haley in NXS next year.

Hopefully Biagi/SHR run an Xfinity car for Chase Briscoe.

Kid still has alot to learn but there is alot of potential. Listen to Robby Gordon talk about Sheldon if you have your doubts.
