Bounty on Kyle Busch

^^^^^ That's the whole crux of the matter you summed it up nicely. These rules limiting cup drivers in the trucks and Xfinity series were put into place to appease a loud and vocal wrongheaded majority of Kyle Busch haters. And I say that as a card carrying Kyle Busch hater myself.

No-one can point to any real evidence that Cup drivers competing in the lower tiers hurt anything about the sport. It's all a bunch of emotional meaningless BS used to keep Kyle Busch off the track. The lower tiers have been wussified and the competition made lesser.

I disagree completely.

Look at the Xfinity series a decade ago. You had a watered down Cup Lite with guys like Busch and Edwards and Keselowski winning everything. Compare that to last year, when you had a great battle between Bell, Reddick, and Custer. That never could have happened under the old format.

Agreed.

Hopefully everyone will enjoy the diversion created by Harvick’s Challenge Races.

It's either okay or it isn't. I hate to break it to ya but having elective outrage is the textbook definition of hypocrisy. And as usual, it's the same KB haters. Won't they be butthurt when he wins anyways lol
That is absurdly black and white and not applicable to this situation man. Firstly, as I said, I sometimes enjoy seeing it because it shows the talent of truck drivers compared to cup.

Secondly, Kyle runs his trucks as often as he can. He has been doing this for years. It's his choice. That bothers people because he chooses to do it.

That is not the same as two cup drivers running a one off for a publicity stunt. The incentives and frequency is so different, that the reactions to each have to be different. There are two totally different contexts. You want people to be hypocritical about this.

No, I think it's going over the heads of all the Kyle Busch fans that don't understand the difference. Kyle has what, 500 something Cup starts? 50+ Cup wins, a couple Cup championships. He would run every Truck/Xfinity race if he could, and doing it in the best equipment.

Less accomplished Cup drivers running an occasional Truck/Xfinity race is completely different, but the Kyle Busch fans refuse to acknowledge this. They would rather cry about everyone being mean and unfair to poor little Kyle.
The last paragraph is on point.

I have no issue with Kyle running the trucks. I enjoy it. It makes me tune in. But it isn't the same. It just isn't.

I have watched very few Infinity races since they put a limit on the Cup drivers but this would pull me back in.

Kyle Busch funds a truck team out of his pocket and provides competitive rides to guys who wouldn't otherwise have them if Kyle weren't so generous in losing his own money. He ought to go out there and show these alleged pros how it's done. They need to up their game and quit making excuses.

Probably need to look at who sponsors his trucks and the affiliation they have with Toyota. Google any of them. Check out who are/were the Toyota development drivers in the Toyota pipeline. I came to a different conclusion and don't believe it is an altruistic charity that Kyle Busch is running. Look at who is on the side of the truck sponsoring the other trucks in the series. Two time Cup champ sponsored heavily by the Toyota factory subcontractors, shooting fish in a barrel as far as I am concerned, perfectly ok to do with the rules they have, but I am not buying the poor Kyle own money truck team.

You're right. We're just speculating. We can't look at the books. All we really have to go by are comments from guys like Kevin Harvick and Brad Keslowski. I've heard them say Kyle puts a lot of his own money into it so I'll just assume they know what they're speaking of there.

KBM may be losing money but Kyle Busch ain't, unless his business manager can't find it with both hands.

Harvick also said years ago that he sold his truck operation to Kyle showed him the books and how to do it and he ran it into bankruptcy. Keselowski said he wished he had the sponsorship that Kyle had. .

Keslowski also said everybody loses a little money at it, some more than others. If racing were really such a great profitable business I'd think you'd see a lot more new startup teams give it a shot. But it seems like it's mostly just a great tax write off for multimillionaire and billionaires who have plenty of cash to burn.

whatever motivates them to compete and dominate in another earthly endeavor

(I'll keep watching) :)

interesting entry. The hundred thousand bounty brought them into the contest. His piece was what Jones won the derby with, and years ago KDB used to drive his trucks before KBM

Is that the same Finch who used to field the Miccosukee-sponsored vehicles? He was able to put some decent hardware on the track.

The current players with Nemo and Dillion working on deals to come
Trucks: Bounty Hunters
Chase Elliott, Erik Jones and Brennan Poole all will have a shot next week at Atlanta at the $100,000 bonus put up by Kevin Harvick and Gander owner Marcus Lemonis for a full-time points-earning Cup driver who finishes ahead of Kyle Busch at a truck race. If no one wins, the bonus will be available the following week at Homestead-Miami Speedway, where Kyle Larson and Poole intend to compete. Busch’s other two races are Texas and Kansas.

Elliott (who also will do Kansas) and Larson will drive for GMS Racing; Jones for team owner Richie Wauters and Poole will do all the bounty races for On Point Motorsports.

John Hunter Nemechek and Austin Dillon are working on deals to compete as early as Atlanta. Nemechek’s family Nemco Motorsports team has a truck that has been re-skinned as a Ford. He could do Atlanta, pending sponsorship, and likely will do Texas

Kinda sad that Harvick himself can't run, but we all know he can easily beat Kyle.

If Nemo or All Hat get the money, will the Cup drivers scheduled later still run anyway?
Hell if I know. I would guess if somebody wins the prize, there probably would be some changes with the cup drivers left. I really don't think they are in the races for the heck of it.

I don’t see anyone on the current list with a Shrub grudge. If Joey or Brad were already scheduled, they might stick around. But they’re not.
