2021 Silly Season

Lets not forget how well Toyota treated Bubba the first time around....

I'd be excited if it was actually His Airness getting into NASCAR and buying into the 43. I would temper my own expectations though as though he is my absolutely all time favorite athlete ever..... he hasnt exactly won any ownership awards with the Charlotte Hornets. They've been a bumbling mess before he took over and during. However two different sports here, hopefully RPM/Jordan hire the right people, get a good alliance with someone and build from there. I would think this would be a positive for the racing if MJ bought in.

It's a Hendrick engine, but that's not uncommon. Larson was just driving the Silver Crown car for that event, he's not the owner.

If the car had an HMS logo on the side panels that cover the engine, that might hypothetically mean something.

There's still a Chevy-based engine in the #57 Paul Silva-owned 410 sprint car he's been driving, and in the #2 410 sprint car he owns on the WoO circuit. He just doesn't have a personal services agreement with them.

They asked Gordon in a backhanded way who was going to drive the 48 and he looked like a deer caught in the headlights. I think they have somebody already. Probably not wanting to take anything away from Jimmie's last few races.

With the new gen 7 car and body panels, as well a everyone buying the same parts from the same manufacturer, I don't see any advantage aligning with JGR and Toyota. Joe has trained personnel but we have seen how that worked for FRR.
May be a whole lot cheaper joining another manufacturer.

Money does talk... But man Denny does have a seriously good thing going where he’s at. You’d think one would be hesitant to mess with it when you are having the type of success he and his team are.

My money is on Bubba, as crazy as that sounds.

Hasn't Jordan owned a successful motorcycle race team in the past?

So if MJ buys in as well as Denny, that means he's done in the 11 right? I dont think you can race for one team while owning another is what my interpretation was. Also crazy will be that the 11 ride will be open with full season Fed Ex Sponsor, you would wonder who would get that ride which would be a frenzy in its own right.

So what's next. Preacher takes a header off the roof of the JGR building distraught over rumors of Hambone and Truex leaving?

Truex is leaving JGR ?? Sure misses the only winning CC he ever had.
I think KB is missing Cole's feed back as well.
That was also before the 4 car limit

What does that limit have to do with it? RCR never had 4 cars and neither did DEI.

Sorry about the mix up here talking to 2 people at once.

From what I understood of the rules is that the combination of the teams you drive for and ones you own can't exceed 4 cars. So from my understanding the only way that Denny could own part of any other team is if he cut ties with JGR.

Does anyone seriously think Hamlin would walk away from a car with 5 wins this year, and a team with three championships this decade, to sign on with a start-up? Harvick leaving Childress for SHR isn't even comparable.
I also think at the time Harvick had his fill of carrying RCR, he was doing exceptional in medicore to good equipment. Denny would be leaving a team at the top of its game to what would be a start up and to my knowledge I havent read Denny has had it with The Preacher, I agree the situations are not comparable.

C'mon people, do you really think that Toyota and JGR much les

I think if you give them enough time, they will be discussing Brian coming back

yes, that was like starting over.[QUOTE="Switchback, post: 1761413, member: 8640 Sorry if I missed it already discussed but wouldn't Stewart leaving jgr to become part owner of haas be almost the identical situation?

Haas had been a car owner in Nascar for a number of years before he and Stewart became partners,

Yep this is correct. It became a rule when the whole 4 car limit thing became a thing. Before that, it did not matter.
