2020 Gander Outdoor Truck Series

I see the TV schedule is for 1-1/2 hours with a football game (BYU-Boise) immediately after. I know it's a short race, but with rain forecast and many other things that can go wrong, seems to be a highly questionable schedule (especially for the championship finale.) Guess I'd better record FS2 too.

The rook Zane Smith has a lot of wins left in his career and so does Sheldon Creed. But I'm pulling for Smith and Creed

I have no idea what his motivation was. I'm not trying to redeem the symbol. But Native Americans were putting 'bent-arm crosses' on goods hundreds of years before the Nazi party came along; probably other cultures too. I say this only to point out the symbol has a long history.

Absolutely correct. Pre-1936, there were actually a couple of American railroads that used it as part of their logo. Here are a couple of excerpts from a forum thread concerning that:

"The Swastika, though a hated symbol now, was around long before the Nazis adopted it. It is a holy symbol in some Hindu and Buddhist religions and was a symbol of good luck in western cultures before becoming what it is now. It was also used in ancient Native American cultures."

"Pretty much nails it. The swastika was also used in Greco-Roman times. It came to the US as a good luck symbol and was used in many ways through the 1930's, until the rise of the Nazis. There is a Central California Traction Company prospectus running around from the 1910's that features swastikas. They were symbols of prosperity and good luck.
Many cultures had their own variants. BTW: its a myth that a right facing swastika is the "Evil" version and a left is the "Good" version. While the Nazis typically used a right facing version, their naval flags used a left. The one hallmark is that they most often turned the symbol 45 degrees like a diamond, while most cultures used it in a box format.
Its amazing that for so long and in so many cultures, the swastika was a symbol of good, but that the horrid work of some madmen in only a short period of time could so completely erase that memory and turn it evil."

Of course, once upon a time when schools actually taught REAL history, people learned things like that.

The swastika symbol goes back thousands of years among various cultures. The word comes from Sanskrit meaning fortunate, therefore it is a good luck symbol.
It is often seen on German and Pennsylvania Dutch antique furniture.

I think Nascar is the last organization to be calling out people for moral insinuations.
The CEO was a drunken adulterer for many years as well as a drug abuser. Talk about the Kettle calling the Pot. The fact that those above him allowed this to go on for many years shows me they are no better.

Drunken adulterer? Who in the hell would sit still long enough for that to happen?

He isnt there anymore either

Just read that Brett Moffitt won't be racing in the Truck series next year. He will become a full time Xfinitiy driver with Our Motorsports.
kinda figured that was coming. I wonder if GMS is going with three trucks next year or will they fill in that empty spot.

Oh yeah Brett burned that bridge bad on the way out.

GMS needs to get over it. Don’t know what driver wouldn’t be pissed off in that situation.

What's the story here??
He basically threw the team under the bus saying how they're failure to properly call a race cost him the championship. If I recall it wasn't the first time he this year that he complained about poor race strategy costing them wins.

But at the end of the day is he wrong?

At the end of the day its not a good idea to publicly trash your team. Usually you get shown the door so you can find a place to be happy.

Moffitt lost the race on a pit no pit call. GWC time and Moffitt's team who were leading the race didn't pit. Getting tires proved to be the better choice and he and the other trucks who stayed out were passed and Moffitt went from first to around 10th when the flag flew. So when they stuck a mic close to him he blamed his crappy finish and season on his team making bad decisions. Kinda strange yapping from Moffitt IMO, GMS had three out of 4 trucks in the final race and he was one of them. The under story is that (GMS) had already re-signed the three drivers and the 4th, Moffitt was unsigned.

I'm pretty sure that spot was filled a long time ago. That's why Brett threw them under the bus post race at Phoenix

and a fine exit strategy it was. not. ;) I thought it was odd he didn't stay with Hattori after they won the championship.
