Superstar Racing Experience

Willy T really raced before my time in following the sport, but I just got done watching the Netflix documentary about him. Wow was he a heck of a wheel man. But man alive was he treated bad by a lot of people, especially in the nascar world

I hope he still has some in the tank to showcase his talent

That documentary was quite an eye opener. I knew of him, but didn't really know anything about him back then. Roush came off as a real piece of ___. Forget NASCAR, it sounds like Willy was qualified for an F1 ride but didn't get a fair shot.

Stewart is co owner in a couple of other tracks also. They could run half the series on the tracks he owns if they needed to.

We post at the same time thinking the same thing..Who the hell is this guy?

Superstar Racing Experience Ernie Francis Jr.
I remember he made an Xfinity start for Carl Long at Road America a couple of years ago. Ernie has been dominating Trans-Am since he was like 16 but I don't think the fields were very strong.
He's half as old as the second youngest driver in SRX.

looks like a slicked up Charger Daytona/SuperBird to me Ford powered. Hard to tell but probably a quick change rear end. I think they said one of the set up things teams can do is change the gear ratios

To me it looks like a Supra, Superbird, and a Dodge Daytona all mated together. I have to say I’m legit excited for this series. Kinda hoping they get a few more big names maybe Rusty Wallace but I’d like to see some WoO outlaws guys drive or maybe Tony’s dirt series drivers tool

How is Ken Schrader not invited to this? That guy is about as much of a die hard, old school racer there is

And Schrader may prefer to be out racing his own stuff wherever he wants to.
I just thought it was a bit early to start complaining about the lineup when they haven't finished picking drivers. :idunno:I believe they said 20 drivers? That seems like a lot comparing it to the way IROC did it anyway. That would make it plenty hard to get drivers in that series who are full time racing.

Well I almost bet the wing on the back is just for looks, I don't think any super speedways will be in the schedule so you can rest easy Charlie.
The heck with how I feel; I think we all know Smoke's opinions on the subject. :D

I just remember all the b!tching about the wing on the first COTs. I expect everyone who complained about that one will complain about this one too, right?

That COT wing looked stupid, it was ok'd by young brian who didn't know come here from sic em about what looks good for a race car. I guess the wing was trying to attract the rice burner car crowd but they stopped short by not hanging an exhaust fart can out the back for the full effect. Ya can't go half way with that stuff.

The COT wing was used because its turbulent wake was much less chaotic.

Fact.

That was what they said, and it could have worked really well in the wind tunnel. The fatal flaw was they forgot to turn the car around in the tunnel to see how the wing worked when a car was spun.

It worked the same way the spoiler worked in reverse.

apparently it didn't

The Wing

There were concerns about the wing giving cars the propensity to go airborne at high speeds and high yaw angles. After trying different side-plate sizes and positions, NASCAR went back to a spoiler.

I'll take an easy one..Nashville. I wonder how SRX and Nascar are getting along? I guess we will find out soon.

I don't think one was ever intended to be direct competition for the other. Nascar was the best current drivers. SRX wants this all star dream team of veteran drivers and has no manufacturer's to try to satisfy with car design. They can literally make the ugliest, worst aero car ever and not care.
