2022 Silly Season

This is significantly good news, always enjoy a new team having a go at it. Tantalizing possibilities for drivers. Sounds like they will have one full time car, then a partimer for AJ. I’d make a run at Kurt Busch to help build the team up, but from sounds of it here most have him as the second MJ/Denny Car. I’d say this would be a nice landing spot for Newman if Brad takes over the 6. A veteran driver and winner with also a history of helping launch new teams.
I'd be very surprised if they brought in an outside driver.

After three years of driving fir them in Xfinity I think it's safe to say that's gonna be Haley's ride. He's already running most of the Cup schedule this year.

That doesn't make any sense if they continue to run two Xfinity cars and add a full time cup car. A whole lot of good drivers will want the vacated Xfinity ride if A.J. moves to cup
I meant I don't think they'd bring in an outsider for the new Cup seat. That will go to AJ or Haley. At this point, I don't consider Grala an outsider, and he could be in line for the resulting X seat.

What kind of team is Gannasi going to have with Kurt gone?
Maybe he will just concentrate on open wheel.

I think Chip has plenty of good options. Ones with decent cup experience that come to mind are Lajoie, Matty D, Newman and Mcdowell that all appear to be free agents at the end of the year.

not a bad list for the 1. I think Chip will be A Ok.

I love to hear that, but what charters are coming available? RWR would be the obvious I assume, but no mention of that in the article.
I think they almost have to offload a couple this offseason. The market is in their favor and I’m not sure how they’d pay to convert all of their fleet over to Next Gen otherwise.

I'll preface this by saying I've never been a fan of charters since day 1 but now it appears to me that will they may be helping the owners they are likely hurting the competition. You have possibly 4 teams looking to enter a car next year that will most certainly bring more competitive cars to the track than the current back marker charter holders.

With the new car the owners now should have something of material to sell when leaving since so much of the car will be spec. I mean yeah a used chassis isn't worth as much as a new one but technology speaking it isn't any different like it was in the past. This goes for so many parts on the new car.

IF Charters meant you had the right to start a race in the top 36 positions only, and didn't effect the pay schedule, any team could then try to fill one of 43 positions to start the race just as in the past.
In other words, race what you brung and your paycheck is how you finish.
