Superstar Racing Experience

I thought the 1 hour show was well done as it covered everything about the series. Hopefully it will be a success. They've got a lot of good people involved and looks like they've got it all planned out well.

Anyone else watch the 1 hour thing CBS had on last night about SRX? Initially I figured they would get a tire change after the 2 heat races, but the way they made it sound last night they might not. If that's the case tire conservation could be pretty key.

Have to say this has me more interested than watching the all star race at Texas.
What 1 hour thing? Although I probably missed any promos; I can’t remember the last time I watched CBS.

It’s a good thing my TV automatically records prime time tv. As I didn’t know of this one hour thing LOL

Chilly, but dry night for racing tomorrow here in CT. With the 8pm start the first two heats will be in day-dusk with the 100 lapper being dusk-night (if they start it relatively soon after the heats).

For some reason it recorded as an ARCA event for me. I was wondering why ARCA recorded earlier but glad I checked this thread and figured it out

I hope this race is fantastic tonight. For entertainment reasons obviously, but if it gets traction that means we will have short track and dirt track racing live on primetime CBS for seasons to come. For some reason NASCAR couldnt get this done and Tony Stewart and Ray Evernham had to go out and create a brand new car and series to do it.

Mad props to them.

So I thought Tony Kanaan was number 13....I spy a 48? Makes me wonder if 7 time will be racing in this series later in the year when Tony is running the car in Indy

It'll be interesting to see if 12 cars are enough for a good show. Some of these guys are still active while others haven't raced competitively in 10 years.

Not sure if we need two SRX threads.

I'm here. Hearing that there's going to be a lot of tire failures due to the green track due to rain earlier plus the Hoosier rubber being laid down by the mods now and also the fact that SRX is only allowed one set of tires. This is coming from another fan here thats staying in a hotel with the Goodyear crew and a Goodyear employee told them straight up they're concerned about it. We'll see.

Just go out in the parking lot and grab some tires. Already mounted!

Also to get SRX autographs you had to stand in a line this morning and pay 20 dollars for ticket. It was limited to 250 tickets for a one hour autograph session held in the afternoon with all the drivers under one tent. When the hour session was up they still had easily 100 fans with an autograph tickets left waiting to get into the tent but then all the drivers left after that 60 minute mark and all those people left had paid money for nothing. People were pissed. They didn't refund or anything.

Off to a great start!

To be fair, it would take about 2.5 hours to sign 250 autographs, if say an entire autograph ticket could be signed in 30 seconds. Regardless, refunds should have been offered.

Then they shouldn't have overpromised and over-sold on the number of tickets. Just have line at the tent and let as many people in as you can for the hour duration and that's it.

Oof, that's an early misstep.

Paying and standing in line for an auto graph is a little too hero worshipy to me. I doubt I'll ever understand the draw to that.

Eh, I just wanted one signed piece of memorabilia from Jimmie Johnson and how often do you meet a 7 time NASCAR champion? But then COVID got in the way. :(

Tons of support for the local hero Doug Coby in the stands and he's gonna he a force to be reckoned with tonight

Huge improvement with the larger names. The numbers are still too small though, I don't get why they didn't just put roof numbers on the cars
