SiriusXM's NASCAR Radio - Today's, not so hidden, agenda.....

You’re surprised the 78 guys aren’t adapting or happy with JGR? I’m not. Those guys loved the low key setting of Colorado and being on the island.
Yeah, I get that, but I am surprised by the sense of entitlement. I mean, I get you liked your former gig, and I get that the narrative is that the guy who employs you now screwed that up, but we are in a pandemic, the economy is shot....and you have employment in a changing industry about ready to dump a ton of talented fabricators, etc. for the new car.....and then you take to the airwaves to run your mouth? Interesting approach, and I am not sure the optics are great IMO.

Hughes went on with Claire...I missed the interview....so I will get it On Demand, but what I could surmise from the conversation was a few things...1) Cole was the glue, and he left, 2) Martin did not want him in his ear telling him to block because he didn't consider himself that kind of driver, 3) Management backed Martin's request, 4) Clayton felt that he was put in a position to lose because he knew what the other spotters were telling their drivers, and from the previous interview....5) He hated going from a team of 60ish to 600ish.

Listened to On Demand. My original take is accurate. For those keeping score....Hughes has been on two days this week. WTF....and you are taking Martin out? I mean KFB is always open for attack, but MTJ? Really? Come on man. Pulling really hard for redemption this year.....Originally for Adam....now for Small and Truex. Maybe Herring will see fit to run his mouth on NASCAR Radio on how great JGR is if MTJ wins this week.

Whoa! Brad Gille takes a shot at The Chosen for his post race attitude Sunday! Gille is the best "on air talent" on that channel. Tells it like it is.....and yeah, is hard, but fair on KFB. Takes a lot to get him pissy. Didn't like The Chosen's short non-engaged answers. This just in....The Chosen is not perfect. Everything's great!

I heard that was like really? As a champion I think he's done a ton going to run the chilli bowl and the snowball derby during a pandemic

I was surprised by it. Honestly, I disagree with Gille. I hate canned answers to stupid questions. Chase isn't a champion because he is giddy after third place finishes. Given that the Champion is great with media, I like that he threw a different side out there.

I was prepared for Junior 2.0 on steroids level coverage this year with Chase, and they've barely covered him at all past the first week or two champ celebration montages and the interview with Gordon. I honestly missed Chase's post race interview on Sunday and even got miffed at Fox that they skipped him. Then I wonder if he blew the media off and left. I know he wasn't mad per se on the radio, but you could hear frustration in that he felt the car was darn near perfect and he couldn't get over the hump. What did Chosen say on Sunday? Seriously asking

Pretty much standard Chase Elliott :idunno:

Anyone who gets miffed at an interview answer like this is either feigning outrage for attention or needs a life.
I'm wondering if he blew off TV because he was the only Hendrick driver they didn't interview after race.

Brad was upset because I guess an interview (assuming phone) with him and claire on the post race show he would only give 2 word responses and it was clear he was rummaging around in his motor home. I didn't hear the actual interview myself

Here we go....Bagley using Letarte this morning to get into fans who think The Chosen was handed one. Love how he gets into a caller, hits the cut button, and then rants on while his caller can't fight back......and Letarte just follows along. He is better than that. TMD does more to hurt the sport than it ever did to help it.

I only listened to TMD last week because the Bag Man wasn't on

It was awesome wasn't it? I mean the dude is toxic. I don't get it. That whole channel lures callers, and then drills them....with the exception Roberts, Trotta, and Gille. They disagree, but not degrade. I think some of those guys...Bagley, Pistone, Moody....work out stuff on the fanbase that is lacking elsewhere for them. Shameful to see a pretty good guy in Letarte get wrapped up in it.

Typically download the podcast of the late shift and listen to that on my drive to work so I don't have to listen to TMD

Moody is somethin else man. In all the worst ways.

I try to give him benefit of the doubt as some of the callers are window licking mouth breathers extraordinaire, but his arrogance is too much. Whenever a caller makes a good contrary point to whatever company line NASCAR gave him to tow for the day, he immediately hangs up on them and degrades them when they can't answer back.

In the end, however, I firmly believe it to be like political talk radio: at least half of the callers are plants and scripted.

TMD at it again this morning. Pistone ranting about racing in the rain. Please stop talking. Racing in the rain is here to stay. NASCAR will get better at officiating it. Hush. Then, they talk about Aaron Rodgers. Meanwhile, Bagley works on his excessive hyperbole...and most of it misses the mark.

I hate it when he lures the callers, drills them, then the producer cuts the call so the caller can't fight back. Like TMD, he spends tons of time talking about stupid things with his producer and it's embarrassing, really. Since when did NASCAR Radio decide to include producers in on air broadcast? I don't get it.

I posted below before I read this....my thoughts exactly.

Oh my God....Bagley into a rant about his relationship with his dad? WTF has happened to my NASCAR channel? Anything about an analysis of last year's 600? Nope. Thoughts about this year? Nope. Bagley unpacking his private family issues? Yes. My God.

Now, Pistone rants....and Bagley with another rant about listeners getting right with their parents. You can't make this **** up. I'm out. My God.

Yeah I turned it off when Bagley started talking about his weekend schedule after he got home.

Well you made it longer than me. I turned it on and heard both those guys were hosting and switched channels. Only worth listening to TMD if they have a guest host

When Bagley calls Nate Ryan "Nathaniel," I throw up in my mouth.

Does anybody on the planet take longer to ask a question then Bagley? Am I the only one who notices this?
Oh absolutely, and I will tell you why...Mike Bagley is more interested in what he wants to ask than the answer. He is in love with himself. I review the previous year's race prior to the event, and I started watch Watkins Glen from 2 years ago....I had to turn the volume down because his call through he S's is the most self-absorbed bunch of bull**** ever. It's like he has a bunch of one liners that he has to get through before the end of the race regardless of what is happening on the track.

Bagley and Pistone will be heading to vacations over the next couple of weeks! Hell yes! Christmas! :partytime

So I’m down here working on this hurricane in New Orleans and I have very limited service but I heard Moody yesterday berate a caller and tell him that absolutely nothing was going to happen to Kyle Busch.
He insisted the way that he always does that he was right and the caller was stupid.
My question is....... Did he admit his mistake today or did he just act like he was right all along?

I would doubt it. There is a reason guys like Moody get the reputation of a blow hard. They earn it.

Listening to Bagley and Pistone suck Mike Tirico's ass this morning was intolerable. Small timers who claim to "emulate" a real broadcaster. What knuckleheads.

You need to switch to Comedy Central or Netflix is a Joke radio. Add some levity to life. No need to torture yourself like that.

The mid-day stuff is sooo much better than TMD. Moody I can usually tolerate as he keeps it NASCAR but he sure does believe this Godfather BS. I absolutely hate TMD. They seem to think people are interrested in THEM and their lives as much as NASCAR. Day after an exciting race and they open up with all their BS from the weekend before, Mia, what Bailey devoured, and other worthless BS. I don’t pay to listen to that BS. I’ll listen the ESPNU in the AM now.

The mid-day is rough too. Choc is a NASCAR shill (when he isn't trying to constantly remind you about Sr). Then Moody has become so overbearing for me with his arrogance schtick that I'm done with NASCAR radio if a race isn't on. Late shift can be pretty good, especially when Brad Daugherty is on.

Oh yes, I agree on Choc. I don’t count Moody as mid-day since he’s on when I’m traveling home But I guess he technI ally is? And yes, his arrogance is overbearing at times.

Best advice I can give is download the late shift and listen to it during TMD

Late shift is replaying when I drive in to work (around 6:20) so it's a listenable option. When it switched to TMD at 7 I'm out.
