nascar ended up with a corrupt race

At least Nascar did something and I commend them for that. With all the assumptions and what if's the only real proof they had was Ty norris, they have no proof of an intentional spin by Bowyer, only silly radio talk.

Yeah, I mentioned that earlier somewhere. I wonder if the appeal board would have an impetus to convene before this weekend? Or if the #56 operates with the assumption they're in the Chase until (if/when) the appeal board upholds the penalty?

Folks gotta be careful what they wish for . I don't want to see Nascar micro managing again . Those days were awful.
 
I'm kinda ok with Newman getting back in, I did feel bad for him as a result of what happened Saturday night. Can't shed a tear for Gordon, though. Jeffy pretty much ended Bowyer's title hopes last year overreacting to minor contact, so Clint just repaid the favor this year. Nothing but karma right there.
 
Its the biggest fine I can remember but is 300K that much to a multi million dollar outfit?

Jeff Gordon shows class even when he gets royally ******. Love that dude.

Dude has every right to be bitching and moaning about how he should be in the chase. Hasn't said that once. Hopefully he takes "Clint's chances" into his own hands again this year. Just hope no one else gets wrecked while he does it.

I don't think there was any way they could fix it without taking Bowyer out of the chase and inserting Gordon. It sucks, but he takes the bullet this time. Last year he got in because of a yellow, this year he's out because 2 guys went slow.
 
So it seems like it's Vickers who blew their cover. If Vickers had gotten the hint earlier and just pitted when told to, MWR would have gotten of scot-free.
 
When Childress punched out Kyle he paid like 100K out of his personal pocket like me pulling out a dime from mine. Didnt seem to be any big deal for these guys no matter how much it is. Or am i wrong?

They probably won't go out of business, but it might affect the bottom line if Michael Waltrip and Rob Kauffman take any profits from the company at the end of the year.
 
NASCAR doesn't want to screw Logano cause it's not like he was doing anything but riding around.

But they are too afraid to park the #15. Gordon got ******. If I were him I'd be lobbying for a 13th car this year. But he won't. He'll show up to the track each week, head down and hopefully ruin Boywer's chances.

This is about what happened Saturday night, the 24 was 3 points ahead of Logano before the shenanigans and still two points ahead before the 22 passed the 15 and 55 who pitted on team orders, it doesn't matter how they did in earlier races just last Saturday nights. You know this and you know I'm pissed and had to answer even though you are trolling but I'm through with it.

Knowing some of the political shenanigans Penske has tried in IndyCar over the years, I'm surprised he's not on the phone with Mike Helton trying to find a way that Brad K gets into the Chase after all of this.
 
Mad that Bowyer gets away with cheating. I cant wait though till Gordon gets near him on the track. There is no way that he'll let Bowyer win this thing.

Pitting early and going safe and slow is cheating? Show me the rule book so I can be sure.

Lets be clear. It was poor sportsmanship, same as staying out longer than you should to try and help decide a championship battle you aren't a part of.

Manipulating race results is cheating. NASCAR made that VERY clear tonight.

They need to get rid of this wild card bull.

Top 10, or 12 get in on points as is. The needing a win to be in a wild card spot creates more problems then its worth.

In the 1995 season finale at Atlanta, Jeff Gordon needed to finish in any position 42st or higher to clinch the championship over Earnhardt. Rick Hendrick entered the #58 car with Jeff Purvis for the sole purpose of parking it if Gordon got into trouble during the race. Is that cheating?
