nascar ended up with a corrupt race

Bowyer, the one who spun and caused the majority off all this mess, gets away with just a slap on the wrist... Would be some **** if he wins the championship. MWR should be penalized so hard they have no possible way of being relevant in the 2013 chase. & put Denny Hamlin in just for the lolz

Come on, man. That would be just punitive and insane. What does next year have to do with anything?

I'm behind all of you guys. lol

I was on page 9 or 10 when I write that. Before the penalties came out.

HUGE ding on his credibility among drivers.
The $300K is coming out of Mikey's pocket.
50 points will be hard to come back from on the racetrack.

Only it's before the seeding, so he doesn't actually have to make up those points. So nope, Bowyer really didn't get penalized.

You have to keep it consistent, so both have to be pre or post chase. Pre chase gives them 12 competitors still versus 10 if they did it post chase.

And it sets a precedent so if Bowyer woulda been a little worse, he would have gotten eliminated as well.
Keep in mind consistant is someing nascar is not.

I can't stop laughing about the '50 driver and 50 owner points, respectively' part.

The sh!theads caused the 24 to miss the chase and the sh!theads at nascar just ignored it, I'm pissed that they didn't even mention it.

I cant belive Bowyer got off so easy. Imo nascar needs to do some form of additional penalizing to him.

Why would ESPN2 break into taped poker or Fox Sports 1 break into taped UFC for this press conference. Or ESPNNEWS come back from commercial and interrupt the SportsCenter with C-grade anchors.

Not sure why Bowyer and Vickers are 'cheating bastards' for following orders .

Maybe you should sit the out for a couple of rounds. :D They broke the stated rules (I even posted them) and are paying the price. Well, Truex is paying the price. Bowyer didn't really even get penalized.

..and Gordon had 26. So what's the problem?

And he made it up. By 2 points no less before this fiasco unfolded.

Face it Fenderboy, you are trying to hate on Gordon and dont have nothing to fall back on because you know he race his way into this chase hardcore style. :p

I cant believe nascar had the balls to actually do something. I hope the sponsors take a long hard look the next time they sign a check over to Mikey. MWR is the biggest cheats in the business. Wonder what DW has to say about this now? The credibility of MWR and his drivers is at an all time low.

So,after Newman threw his pit crew under the bus, will Smolder flip pit crews around like Cheatin Chad did with the 24 48 crews?

I wouldn't be surprised at all if someone from an affected team punts Clint into the fence on lap two. Hopefully they don't get one of my guys while they're at it.

The guy in the purple tie on ESPNEWS obviously knows nothing about NASCAR. But, he's trying, so I give him credit.

Statements from Stewart-Haas Racing Regarding NASCAR Ruling To Include Ryan Newman and No. 39 Team in 2013 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup

KANNAPOLIS, N.C., (Sept. 9, 2013) – The following are statements from Stewart-Haas Racing regarding NASCAR’s ruling to include Ryan Newman and the No. 39 team in the 2013 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.

“Obviously, we’re very pleased with NASCAR’s decision to provide Ryan Newman’s rightful place in this year’s Chase. NASCAR was put in a very difficult position Saturday night at Richmond and we commend the sanctioning body for taking the time to do the necessary due diligence to ensure that the right call was made.”

– Tony Stewart, co-owner of Stewart-Haas Racing

“I am proud that NASCAR took a stand with respect to what went on Saturday night at Richmond. I know it was a tough decision to make. With that being said, myself, Matt Borland (crew chief) and this entire No. 39 team are looking forward to competing for the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship.”

– Ryan Newman, driver of the No. 39 Quicken Loans Chevrolet for Stewart-Haas Racing

Haha now you're changing your tune to them following orders. What happened to Bowyer spun out by accident?

So if MWR had just been smarter about this they would have gotten away with it easier. Use less obvious code words, plan things out a little better.
