nascar ended up with a corrupt race

I bet Aarons is wondering now what the heck they were thinking pouring money into this organization.

You still don't have enough evidence to prove Clint's spin was on purpose?

Jesus NASCAR, Michael Waltrip basically admitted it.

Geez, it's doing something cheap to interfere in a battle you're not part of.

Get it?
what ever dude. If you chose to do something on you own it's not a conspiracy, that is what is happen Saturday night they conspired to change the outcome of the race.

So now the key is whether or not it's a conspiracy? Well, their CC's told them to stay out, so it was also a conspiracy.

I'm happy we finally agree.

Michael probably still thinks someone from NASA put the rocket fuel in his car as well.
Did they ever have anybody take the blame for that? You know good and well Mikey ordered it. I dont remember anybody getting fired or anything just like when they stole some of the Roush parts.

In the 1995 season finale at Atlanta, Jeff Gordon needed to finish in any position 42st or higher to clinch the championship over Earnhardt. Rick Hendrick entered the #58 car with Jeff Purvis for the sole purpose of parking it if Gordon got into trouble during the race. Is that cheating?

hms has used motors as carrot ta low budget teams...... since randy dorton days.......cautions...etc.

That parts thing was funny as hell. Why would you leave a top secret part lying on the ground?

Remember the Roush levitating oil cover that gained them 75lbs of down force? The car got so hot inside, the pit crew kept pulling the side windows out to help it cool off.

Was Richmond?

Round and round we go....just like Bowyer with a sore arm and an itch.
you're Roundy, roundy guy. if it's not a chase race they are all racing for the same points.so you should kept someone from getting points.

It's good to see that NASCAR took action on this and slammed MWR but they really missed the boat for not penalizing Bowyer in the Chase standings. Their reasoning is undoubtedly that the points penalties are all enforced after the Richmond race, but that's where it gets murky since the points get reset going into the Chase. NASCAR should've taken that into account and added an extra penalty in that Bowyer gets docked in the Chase standings too.

I agree, but I think nascar appreciated that Bowyer was put on the spot and hated doing what he did. I'm guessing he couldn't lie about it either and told the truth.

Wait, what?! So that makes it OK? Jeez, Vickers had no clue what was even going on.

Michael Waltrip ‏@mw55
This wasn't a master plan or about a spin. It's about a split-second decision made by Ty to try to help a teammate. I stand by my people.

Ahhh...the old split second 'hurt arm, hot car, itch it' decision is what got them.

Tip for Mikey. When code phrases are used, it ain't split second....it's planned.

Nascar said they still don't have proof Bowyer spun on purpose. Which means Bowyer didn't confess.

I should have explained. Last year, nascar said they couldn't penalize Menard if nobody admitted what went on. I think Bowyer was that guy nascar needed to wrap this up quickly, and they cut him some slack in exchange.

I also doubt you'll hear RCR say much about any of this, because Bowyer has the dirt on that one too.

They've reset the point standings already.

Speculation (as is most of this thread, I suppose)

Well, it will be interesting watching Jeff Gordon these last 10 races. It's true they haven't had it this year and wouldn't have likely done much in the chase.

Now he doesn't have anything to worry about. He can deal with Clint however he prefers. Should be fun.
