Kyle Larson Appreciation Thread

i think it would be fun to have someome follow
Larson for a couple week, just to see what it taking for him to get to and from all these races, he doesn,t have his own plane.

I don't think there is any doubt that Kyle Larson is now the leading driver at HMS. He has done such a great job for that organization in the short time he has been there. I'm glad that Rick Hendrick supports his passion for other types of racing also. He is such an exciting driver to watch every weekend no matter which series he is driving in.

ive really tried to also have Hendrick hire Bell over the years, but they have four great drivers for now.

There's no doubt about it.

Just for comparison's sake... Since 2021

Chase Elliott: 8 wins, 40 top 5s, 64 top 10s 11.9avg finish

William Byron: 12 wins, 36 top 5s, 60 top 10s 13.4 avg finish

Kyle Larson: 20 wins, 55 top 5s, 71 top 10s, 12.5 avg finish and a championship

Pecking order is a dumb thing, in terms of on track performance, it's clearly Larson, Elliott, Byron then Bowman since 2021

Pretty much missed the boat. Last year Byron would have won the drivers championship in any points system in the world except the Brian France/NBC cluster puck.
This year Bryon has 3 wins compared to Elliott's 1, 5 top 5's compared to Elliott's 6 and 9 top tens compared to Elliott's 8.

To travel back and forth like that between South Dakota and New Hampshire is insane. My boss had a week of Bozeman, Portland and Boston for work and was wiped out. I can’t imagine doing this with all the pomp and circumstance that comes with a race

Was there ever a doubt? The Felon will support it until he doesn't. When is Bowman running dirt?

He is concentrating on his Cup ride right now. He doesn't want what happened last time to happen again. He may never race on dirt again as long as he is driving a cup car. But if he does, I will be rooting for him. :director:Go 48 team.:punkrocke

I rewatched the third stage of the Brickyard win last night and that might be my favorite Larson win ever. From driving up through the field at 23rd was just so much fun to relive. He really was entering into the corner like an Indy Car driver. Awesome race, it’s also funny that when the Double attempt got sabotaged by rain, and he didn’t get to run Charlotte I was told on here “Larson let his fans down”,(by fans of other drivers no less. That never made sense to me) well the fans chanting his name at the start/finish line would disagree with that statement. It was a steaming pile of BS then, it’s still BS now.

That all depends on if he wins the regular season points or not. If he doesn't win the points race because he skipped the 600 then he let his fans down.

Nah. It’s the playoffs that matter. Winning The Cup championship matters.

What pisses me off about the doom and gloom crowd is that while they are hooked to their "NASCAR sucks" narratives, they missed what Larson did. I hate that he won, but I appreciate how he did it. This was masterclass ****, and even I understand and acknowledge it.....This was a great performance at the greatest track in the world at a race everybody wanted.

....and this is a good decision.....that The Felon agrees with.....and maybe even encouraged (if I remember Cutie Pie's quote correctly).....

Yeah and you can't leave the crew chief out of the equation, Cliff Daniels. He is probably the best in the series right now. He figured out how to zig when almost all of the others were zagging. Larson had enough gas to do a "look at me suckers, plenty of fuel left burn out", while many of the others were getting pushed back to the pits.

I got on one thread that was trending, (Larson), surfing in the twit tha and I swear I thought I was in a yota bot farm. Arg! Larson cheated!!!, plenty of Nascar whining...NASCAR!, this is why nobody watches!!, they were livid LOL.
Oh how I love this sport!!! Y'all eat your Rice and the rulebook you think you know. I'll See ya in 20 days. And BTW hell of a race wasn't it.

NASCAR regular season championship/ playoff points more important than a championship? Is that what we're doing here?
No, but 15 playoff points makes it a hell of a lot easier to make the final four. You can't argue that missing the 600 doesn't make it more difficult for Larson to win the championship. There was also 8 playoff points available in that race in addition to the 15 that he would get for winning the points which he most likely does by a long shot if he raced in the 600.

This is all correct but he's the regular season points leader with the most wins and one of the fastest cars each week... he gets points if he wins the regular season right? Call me naïve, but I'll take my chances with that scenario.

It doesn't say much for the competition if he wins the regular season championship running one less race than the rest of the field either.

Screw the competition. If a driver with a dominate season loses the last jackpot race to a driver that has two or so wins, third or fourth in points 60 or 70 points away, what does that say about the winner OR the competition? They are lucky? Hell of a way to have a championship in my book.

I dont feel let down either. I thought it was incredibly bad ass he ran the 500. I'd bet the farm most of his fans feel the same way. Again it feels like fans of other drivers are telling Larson fans we should feel short changed for some reason.
He has already won NASCAR championships, Chil Bowls, World of Outlaws, High Limits, and other series races which I really enjoyed...but winning the Indy 500 would be the absolute most awesome thing he would have accomplished in his racing career as far as I'm concerned. Others may feel different about that but that is ok. To each their own. :)
