While I like my current life style and living in Florida, I really do miss watching a snowfall. There is nothing as beautiful as falling snow as it clings to the trees. Yes, it is a PITA to shovel and drive in but for the shear beauty of a white covered, pure, fresh snowfall, it is very comforting to sit inside by a fireplace and simply enjoy. In 1985, a friend and I flew to Jackson, WY, and went to a snowmobile lodge in the heart of the Teaton Mountains. One of the most beautiful trips, ever. We had a guide who took just my friend and I on a day long ride into the vast backland and stopped in the middle of a large plateau. We shut the snow machines off and listened. All we could hear was the wind, no birds, no airplanes, nothing. It was so silent it was scary. But it sure was a beautiful sight to behold.

Left for work around 6:15AM this morning and it was 60 degrees. Two hours later, it was down to 40 with winds out of the North at 30 miles per hour sustained.

Mid 80s today, but not really sunny. Got some more green stuff cut. Even dragged out the weed eater. *sigh* I had missed
some difficult spots when I sprayed foliage killer a couple of weeks ago, so I had to murder the weeds --- then sprayed the hell out
of them. They won't grow back. hehehe

Another beautiful day in Paradise. Woke to temperature of 72 degrees. Going for fourteen mile bike ride, I hope.;) No rain in sight but predictions for same Saturday and Sunday. We could sure use it!!

64 degrees and raining. Cooling off today with a low of 39 tonight.

Gotta love spring in Western PA. Sun, rain and now snow. Seen it all today.

55 and cloudy. Wind advisory going into effect at 2 pm and lasting until midnight. Winds 25 mph with gusts to 55 forecasted, power outages expected.

It ALMOST rained here late yesterday. We need it, badly.
I wish I could send some your way. We've had 3.21 inches in the past seven days. 4.68 inches over the past 31 days. Those totals don't include the snowfall as my weather equipment doesn't measure that. I'm sure with all the snow that we've had another couple inches could be added to those totals.

More snow tomorrow and Saturday for us, saying 2-4 plus I looked at the long range and some more next week. Opener at Fenway today, going to be just a little nippy.

Pirates played through snow showers last night @ PNC Park. I'm sure it's happened before in their history but I really don't remember it being like that before.

Got a fresh blanket of snow overnight. Only about an inch or so. Calling for 1-3 here over the next 24 hours.

Heading east on I80 tomorrow to Princeton NJ. They apparently are expecting 3-6 inches while we're there this weekend. Probably will be fun travels on the way back home Saturday. We were over there a few weeks ago and just got out of town before one of their recent storms. It turned a 5 1/2 hour drive into about an 8 hour drive. That's never fun.

Are you taking the fiver yet or still staying in a hotel?

Still hotels. I don't need the added stress of towing across the state when I've got to follow plow and salt trucks. It's bad enough just driving let-alone having my copilot telling me how to drive. We'll get the 5er on the road soon though.

I know the feeling, concerning rain not snow. :D

More 70 degree "get up and go at'em" weather that slowly brightens into a mid-eighties day filling blue skies with sunshine and puffy, cotton candy clouds. Your imagination could run wild looking at Florida clouds and seeing things in their formations for nowhere have I ever seen clouds like they have in Florida.

The old man rode seventeen miles yesterday along Beach Road and was pretty worn out when the ride was finished. Tried to stay up with a pack of experienced riders, a group of eight, but decided I wasn't ready for that, yet.

Life is good here in Paradise.

High winds forecast for late yesterday / last night never materialized. High temp today is forecast to be a sweltering 45°

It's currently 21 degrees with a windchill of 7 degrees. It's currently snowing and we should likely get around 2 inches before it's all set and done. We're suppose to be getting thunderstorms in April, not snow.

Snowing and 25 degrees in Tulsa. The record low was 29. The guessers say in the 50's later today

71 degrees. Storming, strong winds, thunder and lightning. Supposed to last most of the day.

What's crazy --- tomorrow it will be pushing 80* here.
From the Texas Storm Chasers:
Just to show the temp variations this morning at 8 AM Central -

It's just 48 miles North to South here in Rhode Island yet temp variations of 10-15 degrees are common. Variations of 20-25 degrees aren't uncommon

Snow just a couple days ago and it's too get to 80 degrees plus today. Life in Western PA. Oh, and they're calling for snow on Monday.

Was as good a time as any to uncover the pool today. The only reason that I decided to do it early is because we had an algae problem late last season. We worked hard on the pool until closing time. Gave it one last treatment and covered it up planning on dealing with it in the spring. I was surprised to see the water was crystal clear today. Hooking there filter up this weekend to get the process underway.

Damn It's a lot of work to live in the North woods. :D

Forecast calling for a high of 66 today, 60 tomorrow and 39 Sunday.

Worth every second though. We get a lot of time in that pool each year. Some people look at it as too much work. I look at it as a reward for work getting done. Normal summer days involve getting the work done, putting the power tools away and cracking open the day's adult beverages followed by the pool & hot tub.

The high humidity, suffocating heat, salt air and a myriad of other things create havoc on our stuff also. It's a never-ending daily process to keep up with but well worth it.

Heat and humidity didn't bother me when I lived in Miami. Of course I was in my early 20's then. Visited friends in Fla back in '03-04 iirc and the heat and humidity was unbearable.
In-laws moved to New Port Ritchey and moved back two years later, couldn't take the heat and humidity.
Vegas is hotter than Fla but more tolerable in my book due to the low humidity. Of course YMMV

We got a foot of snow this weekend and it is still snowing, the same thing happened 35 years ago during the same weekend (Minneapolis).

Sunny and mid 60's yesterday, wonderful day for the boys first soccer game.
Cloudy, breezy and we might hit 40, rain coming in later.

It is still winter as long as I'm concerned.

Unreal.
