Hopefully the teams are raising hell about this
Blaney goes "I love feeling like I'm racing in the trucks again.. I used to have fun on fridays"
Yikes.
I think the comparison does a disservice to the legitimacy of the Trucks series in this case.
Here’s your take from NASCAR state media:I assure you that the nascar media will replay and review that chickencrap off pitroad over and over until Sunday and call it “the most exciting qualifying in years, or ever!”
Here’s your take from NASCAR state media:
Other than the way they'll race yes.. absolutely cannot tell the difference between the speeds on TV.. theres not that big of a difference from 170-200.. they're both extremely fast and with a camera following them the difference is just not noticeable. So you think watching the trucks and cup cars at places like Dega look identical? I just want to understand. Lol.

There's no such thing as 'fake news'. Call a mistake, a mistake. Call a lie, a lie.Sounds like fake news.
Like qualifying has mattered?
Qualifying is just a symptom. Is that what the race is going to look like??NASCAR's qualifying dilemma is,
Honestly I think were in for either a great race or a wreckfest. Maybe both. The runs they get are pretty big.Qualifying is just a symptom. Is that what the race is going to look like??
Underrated commentCopy
I was once told "They don't race by themselves so why should they qualify by themselves?"
LOL, I'm still giggling over that take.
Personally, I’m OK with embracing it. But I certainly understand if others don’t.
Under these rules it's not a bad idea.. I think the problem is they dont want it to take so long.

I give it about a 15% chance of a game of follow the leader but I doubt it
I am at a loss. I didn't have a problem with qualifying. It was like a mini-race really. Matter of fact, I rather enjoyed it. I have absolutely no idea what people want, but this was okay. I felt like they qualified the way they are likely to race. Makes sense. BTW--I am very much filled with anticipation for Fontana as you are. I think that this might be epic. Seriously. As I posted somewhere else, I am anticipating a full house. Hotels sold out that usually aren't. Good stuff.
It's been a full house for the last 3 years. Do not attribute a sell out this year to mini-dega. ACS is the raciest track on the calendar and has been for the past few years.
Eh, kind of a sell out. I mean announced, but not real. I've seen it. Regardless, I think that the momentum is different this year. BTW--there have been more than a few who have been asking for a mini-Dega at Fontana for a few years. Less so because the racing has been good until last year where the perception was that it was bad due to Martin's domination. I believe that there is curiosity.
Then they definitely got their wish. One hour of TV coverage for maybe 12 minutes of action - 2.5 minutes at the beginning and end of each of the first two rounds, and 2 minutes at the end of the last one.Under these rules it's not a bad idea.. I think the problem is they dont want it to take so long.
Wow, two hole pages in the pre-race thread dedicated to qualifying. NASCAR must be on the right track to get everyone to take notice of what is happening on qualifying day!

...about Kyle Busch's criticism of the new package at the Vegas test.........Where is the horror over this? Never mind, I know.
It's what fans want
I'm not completely convinced they're asking the right fans though
What fans? Lol
Whoever came up with this idea of qualifying should be fined under Rule #62, subsection #12, line #17... Actions detrimental to entertainment. They might as well use the pace car and give them two laps to get their best time - kinda like qualifying heats. Parking on pit road isn't entertaining.
I dont what the problem is, we had a blast watching it last night. Fun watching drivers shoot up the board and seeing different ones come and go over the run. Should be a great race.
Analogy of the week right hereRaffles are also fun. What ball is coming out of the shoot? IT COULD BE ANY OF THEM!
