I think that might be harder than one thinks. He's not really bring any sponsorship along....Jones is talented and a proven winner. I have a feeling he will find a quality ride.
I'm not sure he has much say in what happens as I fell Toyota pulls the strings around there more than anyone. But it was either him or Bell. You can't get rid of Denny, MTJ or Kyle at this pointThe Preacher will regret this move
Oh sure Toyota pulled the strings but Gibbs ran out of teams to stash his drivers at and now the chickens have come home to roost, he’s losing a talented driver and getting a really talented one in return but...these fellas don’t grow on trees. Later on down the road this one might hurt a bit for JGRI'm not sure he has much say in what happens as I fell Toyota pulls the strings around there more than anyone. But it was either him or Bell. Sounds like Bubba Wallace is gone. Also, he stated that they got another possible sponsor announcement next week.
I agree with your sentiments on Erik Jones, but am surprised by your comment on sponsorship. What sponsorship does Jones bring? There is no family money, AFAIK. I thought all the #20 sponsors were JGR sponsors of long standing. Did I miss something important?I feel bad for Jones. Just getting kicked to the curb for Toyota's darling boy Bell in a total panic move. I would have been curious to see this all unfold without Leavine closing up. Jones is a multi time winner (won a major) and brings his own sponsorship, he's not some scrub that would have made this a no brainer decision in a normal landscape.

Everyone says Jones to the 48....I’m really intrigued at Jones at CGR in the 42. Gives Ganassi someone younger than he had in Larson to build around and has good talent
I was under the assumption that Dewalt and Recers were "his" sponsors and would follow him to another car. I openly admit that that was my assumption though, just something a buddy had mentioned on why JGR may keep him longer term.

Obviously I have no inside info on HMS but they also have a few in the Chevy pipeline. Noah, Reddick, I guess even allgaier.I think hendrick locked Ally in through 2023, if I have that right???
so I don’t think there’s much concern on whoever is considered for the 48 seat
It has not been a good week for either Erik Jones or Bob Leavine. Here's what I posted a year ago, when LFR was eagerly signing up to be the fifth Gibbs car for 2020...Oh sure Toyota pulled the strings but Gibbs ran out of teams to stash his drivers at and now the chickens have come home to roost, he’s losing a talented driver and getting a really talented one in return but...these fellas don’t grow on trees. Yeah sounds like he’s ready to move on.
I’m afraid of what that means for RPM.
Yeah considering HMS is all Pepsi. Not sure Bubba jives with HMS if he’s bringing McDonald’s/Coke wherever he goes.
Jones makes the most sense for that seat IMO.
Richard is the greatest of all time and has the most pull in the sport than anyone. How he managed that team to financially flounder is beyond me.Yeah sounds like he’s ready to move on.

reddick is interesting, I haven’t heard that mentioned much.

Drivers like Reddick need championship equipment. Richard will never let go of him, Tyler would need to make that call on his own. It’s easier when they understand its all a business and don’t get their emotions and guilt wrapped into it. ie Kyle Larson and Carl Edwards. Look at the leap Harvick made once he jumped ship.I think Childress would do anything ($$$) to keep Reddick. He's not letting him get away without one hell of a fight.
He said he has him 1 more year, but we all know what a contract is worth these daysI think Childress would do anything ($$$) to keep Reddick. He's not letting him get away without one hell of a fight.
