The most long winded “no comment” ever...corporate speak ( in other words, I am not sticking my neck out and saying anything about anything)
from a guy on another forum that was very reliable:How the heck did he get the seat? AquaFresh?
SHR is getting Larson I think. Larson is a flat better driver in Cup than Jones.
Those companies are only worried about the profit margin and return on investment.(Busch, Mobil, Smithfield Etc) that may not want to be associated with a team that hired someone believed to be a racist.
Those companies are only worried about the profit margin and return on investment.
They are not even American companies.
Ford is.Those companies are only worried about the profit margin and return on investment.

Ford is International with plants all over the world.Ford is.
Okay, then I'm not sure what your point is regarding Busch, Mobil, and Smithfield not being 'American' and what that has to do with approving of Larson. The sponsorship money they spend doesn't come to SHR in Euros.Ford is International with plants all over the world.
Interesting. I had heard something similar but it was Kyle in the 44 full time and Buckshot in the 46 part time for a couple years, and then Kyle and Buckshot would switch rides so that Kyle could put more focus on running the business while running select races. (Coca-Cola was thrown around as being a primary sponsor for one of their cars). PE was supposed to be Kyle's team once he completely retired from driving.from a guy on another forum that was very reliable:
"I wasn't working there, so this is all based on conversations with folks who were, but the team was never really intending on running Buckshot full time. The original idea was Adam in the 45 full time, which was the 44 team from 2000, then a new car with new crew for Kyle and Buckshot to share in 2001. GP never really wanted Buckshot in their car at all, but the folks at PE really wanted to give him a shot, and when Adam died, that shot became full time, which GP was even less ok with. So Buckshot ended up in a new car, for a struggling team, with a new manufacturer that was up and down all year, and a sponsor that didn't want him in the first place. So he had no chance."
I misremembered the PE part my bad. Still a neat story imo
When I know what I am talking about I will let you Know. What I think I was trying to say is these companies don't just live and breath America. They have owners all around the world so they don't just cater to what got someones shorts to tight in the USA.Okay, then I'm not sure what your point is regarding Busch, Mobil, and Smithfield not being 'American' and what that has to do with approving of Larson. There is lots of speculation that Clint Bowyer will retire from driving and move into the broadcast booth after this year. But Clint now goes public with his desire to race on.
He says, "Stewart-Haas is a wonderful organization. I want to be there... I believe all the pieces of the puzzle are there." Sorry Clint, it's just my opinion but I believe the 14 team is missing one *crucial* piece of the puzzle.
Clint, you’re really good as a commentator. Better than Gordon. I think your ride is about to be given to Kyle Larson and that’s not a bad thing.

You will never satisfy the media, if they can't find dirt they will make it up.For the entire history of NASCAR, they have been trying to get the media to pay MORE attention to the sport, and now you want them to be shut out and ignore the sport? Here's a BETTER idea. How about everyone in the sport from the CEO down to the guy that fixes garage door ropes at Talladega just behave like they have more common sense than the average house plant.........
True, but they usually handle marketing regionally, and accounting metrics are always broken down that way. Their divisions in Europe may not care who they sponsor in America, but I guarantee the people responsible for US sales care. They're the ones with the decision making authority on who they sponsor, and they're the ones with their heads on the block if US sales fall due to negative publicity. What I think I was trying to say is these companies don't just live and breath America. They have owners all around the world so they don't just cater to what got someones shorts to tight in the USA.
That's blaming the messenger; politicians try that sh!t all the time to distract people from the real issue. At least Larson himself isn't trotting out that excuse. It was the media that caused all the trouble and if they had ignored it we probably would never have heard about it.
Right on the money and with the pandemic just starting out, its literally all they had to report on major sports networks. That's blaming the messenger. If Larson hadn't dropped the bomb, there would have been nothing for the media to report.
You will never satisfy the media, if they can't find dirt they will make it up.
Where did you think Burton learned to hype a snail crossing the road?
an NFL reporter tweeted out that Jones was out of the 20, Bell in for 2021, but it was quickly deleted.
now any other year i'd be skeptical of it coming from a NFL reporter but we did have the fake dog twitter account break Poole running the full cup season so...
Briscoe is getting that ride. He's winning in Xfinity and is showing to be cup ready. SHR needs that second star. Briscoe is it.The guy SHR should be looking at isn't Kyle Larson, but rather a guy who is currently outperforming his equipment: Bubba Wallace. He could contend for wins in that #14. I think his talent level is right up there with Larson. SHR could attract some nice sponsors for that team as well.
Nah Larson over Bubba any day of the week sorry. The guy SHR should be looking at isn't Kyle Larson, but rather a guy who is currently outperforming his equipment: Bubba Wallace. He could contend for wins in that #14. I think his talent level is right up there with Larson. SHR could attract some nice sponsors for that team as well.
I'm a Bubba homer and even I would take Larson...but it's a nice fantasyNah Larson over Bubba any day of the week sorry.
Is he really? He's 3rd of the 4 guys running RCR stuffThe guy SHR should be looking at isn't Kyle Larson, but rather a guy who is currently outperforming his equipment: Bubba Wallace. Just saw jones out of the 20. And he wasn't even called family. But let's be honest he's been the lowest performing driving at the team and someone needed to go

Regan Smith and Mikey on Race Hub acting as if this news was a complete surprise to them. I'm thankful for a DVR so I can scan through most of this show. It gets harder to watch all the time.Just saw jones out of the 20. And he wasn't even called family. But let's be honest he's been the lowest performing driving at the team and someone needed to go

Race hub announced ityou have a source from where you are seeing it?
I mean we are all expecting it, but still for some reason I’m anxious about the moment it’s actually official..
I feel bad for Erik. He’s a much better driver than what this season is showing and EVERYONE knows it! This kid has wheeled some amazing races and he didn’t forget how to do it either. Just having a crummy season at the worst time.
I really feel if they could put some more effort into what crew chief Would fit best with him it would be worth it. But obviously they’re just trying to finish this out and move forward.
Toyota is doing it to themselves. No one can afford an alliance or at least not for long. Yet they keep dumping tons of money into driver development. It wasn't like they didn't have a substantial investment in Jones eitherI feel bad for Jones. Just getting kicked to the curb for Toyota's darling boy Bell in a total panic move. I would have been curious to see this all unfold without Leavine closing up. Jones is a multi time winner (won a major) and brings his own sponsorship, he's not some scrub that would have made this a no brainer decision in a normal landscape.
I'm not sure Briscoe's xFinity success translates to Cup. Larson & Bubba are safer bets imo.Briscoe is getting that ride. He's winning in Xfinity and is showing to be cup ready. SHR needs that second star. Briscoe is it.
