Chevrolet's new NASCAR MENCS Car unveiled next week

And the drift crowd loves em.

Toyota is bringing the Supra back, its not rumors at this point, you should try and keep up :p:p

The Supra has been coming back for at least 10 years. At least.

When you think about it, it will have to sell in the 35-45K bracket. If it goes lower, it cuts into the 86, and it goes higher and it enters Lexus land (probably there already at 40K). Can you build a current day Supra for that price? The BMW infusion will help lower costs, but that is a pretty tight window. If you hit it, have you compromised so much that you have missed the mark in terms of build quality? The Supra community has been screaming for this, but they had better be careful for what they ask for. It probably won't be all that--and won't compare to what it was....if it comes at all.

Well, since you dont believe its coming back, then there is no point in debating about it now is there?:D,

But, yes, it has to be priced in the mid 30's and higher or it will dip into the 86 price range, my guess is it will be priced to compete with Mustang and Camaro, only make's sense. Its not going to be like the last Super, and anyone that is hoping it will be is going to be disappointed, so I am in agreement with you, it probably wont be all that. But, we shall see.

I must say that I think the body looks really good, almost making me want to like Camaro's :D.

Love to see the Camaro in the top league. It was an original pony car/ muscle car like the Mustang/ Charger/ Challenger / 'cuda/ Chevelle/ Trans Am/ GTO etc. Rear wheel drive, lots of 'exhaust' sounds, fun cars. the camry? well it was a , a a ahhhh umm let me think here, a foreign rice burner.

We've seen the ZL1 pace the field a few times over the last couple of seasons, maybe they were telling us something.

Believe it or not, even the V-6 model sounds pretty good...

Yeah, I think it's impressive that they managed to make a V6 sound that good.

I've always been a huge fan of GM's old 3800 V6 (owned several of them) but even with a quality exhaust it sounds mediocre at best, and that's being generous. That new 3.6 is stout and has the sound to back it up. They have certainly come a long way

That 3.8 was ****** bullet proof though and it was quite the speedster on the highway.

Loved that engine.

Bunch a white shirts and black pants. Is this the new company car for 'Geek Squad'?

The Volt deserves the ax. My wife's Volt spent 8 out of 18 months in the shop. They never could fix the parking brake, or explain why the gas motor would start and run by itself hours after it was parked. Was a nice car....when it ran.

Traded it for a Rav4 that is bulletproof.

You can't hurt a Rav4 as I know several happy owners.

It looks generic...make it look like the stock version and then I'd call it a home run...it's the same old ****! It doesn't look any more like a Camaro than my Hyundai does.

OEM production cars modified for racing were last used in Nascar in 1966. That's over 50 years ago. Don't you ever get tired of being grumpy?

Hyundai's and yotas are almost impossible to tell apart. that is generic compared to a Camaro IMO. I don't think either designer had an original thought between them

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and some folks will see the Nascar Camaro as incredible and others will see it as a decal festooned slab sided monstrosity. The tent is big enough for all views.

To be fair though, you're comparing two family sedans to a sports car. The Fusion and Malibu fall into the generic design mode as well.

I appreciate the perspective as some folks would rather forego it and cherry pick things to try and prove their point.

I was replying to a poster that said: " It looks generic...make it look like the stock version and then I'd call it a home run...it's the same old sh!t! The save the children that enjoy racing would rather have a Mustang or a Camaro I would think instead of what most would consider a grand ma car. good move by Chevrolet. I hope Ford follows suit.

The stock Camaro does not look generic but it does when given the Gen 6 treatment. A 57 Chevy would look generic in Gen 6 trim because it the Gen 6 car is generic.

I don't know if it's just me, but I can better differentiate an Elantra from a Camry better than I could differentiate two chrome-laden boats from the 50's.
comparing multi colored jelly beans to rolling art in my case.

Yeah, I like the Camaro and I too hope the Mustang comes to Cup, as long as it looks better than the Xfinity version which IMO looks nothing like the street car. Chevy nailed it with the Cup Camaro though.

ah I have always liked the Xfinity cars more than the cup cars. The Mustangs and Camaros have a long racing history compared to what Ford and Chevy are using in the cup series. They look better on the street than four door sedans that they are trying to play off as race cars.

I said in another thread awhile back...run Challengers/Chargers, Camaros and Mustangs in Cup, but with the bodies stock version. Toyota...well who cares, make the pony cars matter again.

It's definitely an upgrade. I never understood why Chevy went with the SS as a Cup car, it was produced in limited numbers and probably 95% of the fan base couldn't afford one. Probably 98% of the fan base can't afford the Camaro ZL1 (it has an MSRP of $61,140), but it could encourage fans to go out and buy a four-banger or a V6 model.

Except the fans are going out and buying trucks and SUVs. I'm starting to wonder why NASCAR isn't running truck models in its premier league.

why Ford is blowing them away already in truck sales. now a station wagon league? don't give Brian any ideas.
