Chili Bowl 2019

Some good ones tonight. WoO Shane Stewart, David Gravel and Sammy Swindell. Tim McCreadie. Nascar's Landon Cassill, not much of a threat to win. Anybody see another front runner possibility ?

Rico Abreu would be the favorite. Chris Windom and Jake Swanson should be up there. Alex Bright has won a qualifying night before. Cole Bodine is in a Clauson Marshall car. JJ Yeley looks to be in a better ride this year and could do something.

I didn't see Rico in the race tonight, I did forget to mention IndyCar's Connor Daly in the 22c

Not bad. Abreu won, Bodine third, Swanson fourth. Bright was 14th after wrecking with Sammy Swindell. Windom was running near the top five early when he hit the wall.

David Gravel ran the best of any of the WoO guys so far and had a great run to finish second.

Full results:

UOF A Feature (25 Laps): 1. 97-Rico Abreu, [2]; 2. 76G-David Gravel, [4]; 3. 57C-Cole Bodine, [1]; 4. 68W-Jake Swanson, [17]; 5. 08-Cannon McIntosh, [7]; 6. 9-Tim McCreadie, [6]; 7. 87-Colby Copeland, [11]; 8. 67R-Ryan Smith, [23]; 9. 4D-Robert Dalby, [15]; 10. 57D-Daniel Robinson, [20]; 11. 52-Blake Hahn, [3]; 12. 43-Justin Peck, [19]; 13. 92-Aaron Reutzel, [10]; 14. 47-Alex Bright, [12]; 15. 1-Sammy Swindell, [5]; 16. 9P-Tom Harris, [24]; 17. 54W-Matt Westfall, [18]; 18. 16K-Tristan Guardino, [22]; 19. 15M-Jason McDougal, [14]; 20. 67K-Holley Hollan, [13]; 21. 3F-Geoff Ensign, [16]; 22. I'll pick CBell and Ryan Bernal, with Chase Johnson and C.J. Leary as alternates. Haud should have a good run, but something tells me he won't be one of the top two.

Excuse me, while I kiss the sky: Tracy Hines comes back to finish seventh

Not only did the 2005 champion walk away, he came from the back of the C-Main, transferred into the B-Main advanced to A-Main and finished seventh in the feature on preliminary night.
“We ran the C,” Hines continued. “We knew the car was still bent. We came back after the C, fixed what we thought we could. I got some help out there in the B-Main. A lot of guys crashed and gave me a lot of spots. But we’re still working on the car. I don’t know if it’s good enough to drive all the way through but we’re going to keep stabbing on it. We’ll see what happens.”

Unfortunately, the wrecking was far from over. Hines started 24th in the A-feature and quickly moved through the field. He was running 12th when he was collected in the Kyle Cummins incident. After the officials looked over the car, Hines soldiered on. All-in-all, Hines passed 36 cars en route to his seventh-place finish.

“The car held up and we got some pretty good results,” Hines said. “You always want to be better. In racing, that’s your job to want to be better. We need to get a little bit closer.”

The 46-year-old New Castle, Ind., native—and USAC Triple Crown winner—will have to advance from the B Main if he hopes to compete in his 16th A Main on Saturday.
