Cup RACE thread --- Atlanta

Well..let's see. We can return to last years package and watch all the cars line up in a straight line. Or, we can watch slower cars, (though I can't tell), race multiple grooves. Hmmmmm...let me see.....

Harvick pitted for 4 tires but FOX said 0...was wondering how he managed to stay up front this long after a restart.

How's the sound at the track? Is it still the wall of constant noise or are there breaks where you can hear things?

Listening to the onboards sounds like they are dragging an anchor coming out of the corners.

I mean, it actually is pretty noticeable. That'd be like the difference between a prototype and a GT car...granted, this speed difference isn't as pronounced as that, but it is noticeable.
The roof cam is where you can really see the cars are slower, but to me, the other camera views I dont really notice it .

Like that old saying, speed doesnt mean good racing, I will take slower race cars to have better racing.

Watched the first few laps, washed the car quick and came back to see Kyle Busch is inside the Top 10...truckin'....

Anyone who says they can tell the difference between 170 and 200mph on the TV is full of it

Its noticeable. Its not a massive difference, but its noticeable. Look at the corner exit IMHO is where you can tell its a tad bit slower.

The racing is good though, I cannot complain about the racing. Its pretty good.

Interesting use of the ghost car showing the speed carried in the middle of the corner.

It doesn't - as F1 would prove - but I don't think this slower racing is necessarily better either. In terms of competitiveness or challenge it doesn't really seem to be a massive upgrade. And I have to say, the revisionist history that racing before this year sucked kinda bothers me...

2014 or bust.

Basically today’s package with 200 more HP and remove the tapered spacer.

Differing opinions =/= complaining.

The racing is pretty nice, so yeah I can say that people wanting to complain when the racing sucked, but want to complain about "weh the cars are slower." when the racing is good...seems kind of like complaining to me.

Atlanta traditionally has long green flags to separate the contenders from the pretenders than things tighten up at the end. The "rubber band" effect does have some truth here.

I don't need any "packages" or whatever they want to call them. Just build the car and let the best man/team win. If it's by 2 laps awesome, if it's by .02 seconds awesome...

Lmao what Fox’s tracker conveniently left out was the 2018 ghost car screaming off the corner and rocketing past it heading towards turn 1.

Differing opinions =/= complaining.
Not really, at Atlanta you cant put that power down they had last year

“Nobody has a 4 second lead!”

“Watch the ticker!”

*See’s Larson’s lead*

This aint it chief.
