Low in the 18 second range. 2 seconds faster than Bell, and so far an unofficial track record.I wonder what his lap time was for the last lap. He had to have made up at leat a couple of seconds

My question is why NASCAR didn't throw a caution when Ross hit the wall on the back. Maybe it was another case of not throwing the yellow on the last lap?
I just read that it was 18.845 seconds on another forum.Low in the 18 second range. 2 seconds faster than Bell, and so far an unofficial track record.
I know. Someone said if they hit they wall they get penalized. Well if someone is trying to pass me on the outside on the last lap I'm just going to run them up into the wall then.I just don't see how you make a "rule" about this in the future. What would the rule state? I mean, he rode the wall for half a lap and barely hit anyone until the finish line and even then he didn't even cause an accident!! How do you put a "rule" on that?
I don't know how you'd word it. It's almost impossible. But, I think it's a once in a lifetime move. Spotters have seen it now and will react accordingly. I think everyone was just dumbstruck in the moment yesterday like "there's no way this will...oh sh**"I just don't see how you make a "rule" about this in the future. What would the rule state? "Drivers are not allowed to try and win a race or make the playoffs, you can only go 98% on the last lap, not 100". I mean, he rode the wall for half a lap and barely hit anyone until the finish line and even then he didn't even cause an accident!! How do you put a "rule" on that?
This was fairly unique...I don't think anyone is trying this other than at Martinsville or Bristol and even then he had the perfect scenario for this in that there wasn't one car in the high lane to get in his way. This would be a different discussion if he had tried this and took out 3-4 cars on the way to the finish line but that wasn't the case.
Times were when someone would win the last race of the season but play second fiddle to the season champion. The only bad thing about "the move" was it completely takes away from the fact that Bell won his way into the final 4. No one is talking about that today

Nascar is fine with intentionally wrecking them. Apparently the problem is getting them in the right rear. Ty squared up and hit the 19 so hard he buckled the hood and according to them that okThe "move" beats the alternative
Ross purposefully wrecking 2-3 cars on last lap to get in the playoffs
Ask Bubba how wrecking someone intentionally went........sure different situation.... but it's still intentionally wrecking someone
Do y’all actually want this every Martinsville race? The move is worth 2 seconds on the final lap. Will the leader do it to ensure he wins? It’s a can of worms here.

There's a video of someone walking against the wall last night. If you think the car looks bad, you should see the other guy...Will they actually make it a rule? I don't know. But I wouldn't be surprised if they did, even if only to protect the wall at Martinsville from taking a beating in the future.
Leave it to Bob to come up with the worst nicknames for this move
Maybe "The Move" is enoughSports writers can try all they want to come up with a cool name for "The Move", but from here until the end of time if you look up the saying "Balls to the Wall" this video will play.
Bet he wish he could turn damage off on those Renault engines, too.

NASCAR says he was running 100.483 mph avg. lap speed.I just read that it was 18.845 seconds on another forum.
If counted it would be a track record for cup cars with all if it happening on lap 500 with a reduced HP package.
The Modifieds have the overall all time record for Martinsville.
