Fall/Winter Weather Thread (2014-2015)

7 here this morning. While it's cold the snow has been pretty light.

Check out some of the pics from Buffalo if you get the chance. At least they make the best of it. One of my favorites.

It was 26* Monday morning when I left for the Hill Country, but had a bright sunshiny day.
Made the offer on the house I want to buy --- now I wait for the owner to make a decision.

Yesterday, coming home was beautiful -- low 50s for the high. Again, with bright sunshine.

Only 32* this morning, and already the sun is warming us up.

23* at 6 this morning, 32* at 9 am. Wind is still blowing pretty hard.

So apparently I am the only one who loves the cold weather. :D

This is my feeling on Winter, cold, snow, ice, etc.

Good luck with the purchase TRL!

It's freezing outside. Thermometer says 60 but it really feels like 57.
Prolly gonna hafta get a blanket out of the hall cabinet tonight.

5 deg F here right now. Only about 1/2 inch snow though.

A little warmer and clear this morning. 39* at 6 am.

It's supposed to rain here all weekend.

60* and damp here this morning. Weather guessers say we're going to get some real rain later today and into tomorrow.
As long as it doesn't include severe thunderstorms, it's good. LOL

Only 59* this morning --- but thick cloud cover, left over from yesterday/last night's rain. Had just over 1.25 inches --- fortunately
missed out on the severe stuff the weather guessers predicted.

Watch your back, Johali --- there's more on the way.

Thanks, It's getting really bad here. Big live oaks are bending over and heavy rain. All kinds of warnings out. We'll be fine though.

warmish and windy here, mid/upper 60's.

Have one race left this weekend, leaving Thursday morning to head north, weather forecast is improving. Then motor comes out in the driveway. Dad cleaned garage today while I worked, I spent the evening cleaning our back room and taking the fridge apart that the PO left us- doesn't work so it's going to the curb. Should be task #1 tomorrow.

Apparently power outages are common out here, so splurged the money I made today on a APC 865W battery backup for living room (55" LCD) and a 150W backup for dad's bedroom (24" LED). Should give us a half hour run time on each TV, the 1500 is upgradable to a second pack for 70 minute runtime on the TV. Also bought a pair of Amerelle power failure lights, high ratings on amazon. Everything arrives Wednesday so that will be my fun before we head out.

Give some thought to purchasing a generator sometime. One of my best investments. In the winter, ours allows us to keep both wood pellet stoves going along with 2 refrigerators w/freezers and a chest freezer. We can also run our main entertainment center along with maintaining an internet connection.

Temps here are highs in the 30's this week and low's in the 20's. Had a cold front blow in the other day that produced strong enough winds to destroy one of our two portable garages that I just paid $600+ about 3 weeks ago.

It's a nice morning down here today.
I saw this tree that my kids used to call Lego trees.
Do you think they inspired Lego's design?
