I think the new inspection has had the biggest impact. I’m sure there are many other nuances that the 4 is doing on top of it but it’s not an advantage for Ford as much as removing whatever Gibbs was doing last year. The Chevys are just a wild card now with a new body. Ford will probably have same issue next year.
So Kez was right last year and Martin is wrong. The new inspection took away the Gibbs “unfair” advantage and made them all legal now. Lol.
All legal except for the guys with the window issue. This will never end. It isn't about if the cars are legal, it's whether or not they get caught. It amazes me that NASCAR doesn't understand that they are completely screwed. They will never get ahead of this. Scott Miller et al. talking about ramping up the penalties will only make matters worse. You have attendance and viewership problems, and you are going to hammer down on fan favorites? I don't think so. Anybody with a brain in NASCAR would help the inspectors to understand that perhaps letting some stuff go would be a good thing. Nobody would ever know. Nobody, and we would stop talking about this. The great teams will do all things better--even pushing the limits. **** almighty, we have spent millions on the OSS, we inspect the **** out of everything, we take the cars back to R&D even after the race, and **** is still going on. What the hell about this picture suggests that it will ever change? It won't. If I am a crew chief, I know that I will get fired if I don't try **** and lose, or I will get fired if I try ****. I know what I would do. Absolutely the most ****** stupid thing I have ever seen. NASCAR needs to get a grip, and let these teams go.
