I love short track racing (Taylor's Version)
Of course, NASCAR can put this to rest by admitting that his use of the n-word was only part of the reason he was suspended and that it has to do, in part, with his comments about Danica.
I know exactly what he said.
Make up my freaking mind People wonder why we don't get the truth from the media????????????Nope. If that's what he said, suspension is warranted.
.
This really seems like an idiotic thing to be debating over. What he said was wrong. I think everyone can agree. Andy needs NASCAR to come out and say it's over Danica. Why, I don't know. Regardless of what NASCAR says everyone will still believe what they want to believe. Like what has already been said before it's NASCAR's sandbox, you play by their rules. That's the way it is plain and simple. If you've got a problem with it go start your own racing series where that kind of stuff is acceptable and let's see how long that lasts.
He'll have no problem but you already knew that.So he can somehow blame her for something else.
Junior is a stand up guy.Heard this earlier when Earnhardt Jr. was asked about this in the media center but I just found the quote.....
“It’s just really unfortunate that he chose to make that decision at that time to use that language,” Earnhardt said at Phoenix International Raceway Friday. “I don’t like it. There’s no room for that in my life. … When one person’s mistake looks bad on the sport, it’s unfortunate.”
Trash him if you like but this is just another reason that I'm a fan of this driver.

As you already know , Nascar takes the high road in these situations and does not release stuff that would make the guy look worse . Same as they wouldn't release the results of a drug test . The driver can give out the info if he chooses , but you won't be getting it from Nascar . Sorry , the media has to do what it usually does , make stuff up.Of course, NASCAR can put this to rest by admitting that his use of the n-word was only part of the reason he was suspended and that it has to do, in part, with his comments about Danica.

I agree with JR. Nascar has a bad enough image as it is without this no name causing more trouble.
Nobody's saying what he said is right. His comments about Danica were part of his suspension. Everybody knows that, whether the NASCAR apologists want to admit it or not.
That's exactly why everybody knows his comments about Danica were part of it. I would say Clements would've been suspended for one race over his use of the n-word if he hadn't said the things he said about Danica and the racing in the 500. His comments about Danica - he was probably going to be reprimanded by NASCAR over those anyways.
I don't think Nascar cares who Clements was talking too, the simple use of the word is the prevaling point. When you work as a representative like a driver who is the face of the team , or as a suit at Proctor and Gamble you just cant say that kind of thing.Um, that's exactly my point. No matter how you put it, our youth IS being desensitized to that word because it's used as a term of endearment on movies, television shows and music. If MTV is offended by the word, as they should be, it's time for them to set the example. If the African-American community is offended by the word, as they should be, they need to start calling out the entertainment industry.
My biggest beef is that this is MTV we're dealing with. They ARE the problem. But, once again, everyone wants to ignore the overall problem when it comes to that word and crucify one single person instead. I mean ... all the problems with our society now are Jeremy Clements' fault. Let's put it all on him and give MTV ANOTHER free pass. Sounds good to me.

Kids maybe desensitized by MTV and that is a disservice. But you dont get to bring that baggage into the corporate world. Aside from the one in million rock star types you have to clean up when you are dealing with corporate people, or the money.
Clements has been at this a few years, this cant be a shock and the statement was a carreer killer for almost any driver (99.9% need sponsors) a virtual career death wish. Nascar penalty isnt the back breaker, never getting a sponsor is the deal breaker. Nascar is just wanting distance from him, to keep their sponsors happy , aka damage control, it isn't an offensive attack against Clements, just an expressed cringe, or defense.
So, NASCAR should just follow the same low road that MTV takes, that's your point? My take is, NASCAR doesn't tolerate racist bull****. And I happen to agree with them. I could give a crap if the MTV crowd does or not, because, well, that crowd has very low standards. I certainly don't blame nascar wanting an image that doesn't tolerate racist bull****.Once again, if you're kosher with crucifying Jeremy Clements while giving the entertainment industry ANOTHER free pass, you're part of the problem.
When MTV publishes that article, I'll be right there to publish my rebuttal to grill them.

So, it's OK for you to put words in others mouths, but it doesn't work the other way. Of course I already knew that.I never said they should take the low road. Quit putting words in my mouth. I'm saying that the punishment didn't fit the crime. NASCAR set their standard when they reinstated Bryan Berry very shortly after his "indefinite suspension" for calling an African-American driver the n-word, very much in public.
Keep running over his ass.The wheels on the bus.....
I dont know any such a damn thing and believe it or not I am part of everybody so stick it.Nobody's saying what he said is right. His comments about Danica were part of his suspension. Everybody knows that, whether the NASCAR apologists want to admit it or not.
I know someone brought up Brendan Gaughan's crew chief. Yes, Gaughan used the same word. However, the two differences are, Bryan Berry's indefinite suspension was lifted just a couple weeks later, and his derogatory comments were intended. He used the "n" word towards an African-American driver with every intention of it to be racist. Berry's offense was much more severe than Clements' offense and, in the end, his punishment not as severe.

Well, we'll all have to agree to disagree. The bottom line is, Clements is done. He'll never see the inside of a racecar ever again.

All this because a "journalist" is going to publish off the record remarks. And that's the part that pisses me off the most.
He'll race again if he wants, maybe not in the top three tiers, but if he wants to , he will race.Well, we'll all have to agree to disagree. The bottom line is, Clements is done. He's an owner/driver , is he not Johali ? Nascar will let him race as soon as he has taken some sensitivity training. He'll race again if he wants, maybe not in the top three tiers, but if he wants to , he will race.
You can bet your ass that somebody associated with nascar, even if he's a basement vampire at his moms, reads every word on every thread on the world wide web that has anything to do with nascar. Wouldnt be hard to do with a few people and the right hardware or start their own forum. It's a good thing that nascar doesn't read some of the posts on here or they might ban some of us for a lifetime.
Yes he is but it may take awhile before they ease him back in at the upper levels. He's an owner/driver , is he not Johali ? Nascar will let him race as soon as he has taken some sensitivity training.
And I say you don't have a clue as to what happened or even what will happen.
OMG 274 posts and it's over. yea.Yeah, I don't engage in pissfests in here. If you want to start a whizzing competition and get personal, start a thread in The Podium.
The journalist didn't run his trap, the dumbass did.
The journalist reported what the dumbass said.
You sure love the whole "if this woulda happened, it'd be different" thing. I think that's your favorite. If it was Kurt Busch, you'd be saying the exact opposite.
