Hooters has been a NASCAR sponsor for quite a while. Was Alan Kulwicki the first?
Sad to see them go, but times are tough.

One chain that is fast growing in Florida is "CULVERS". If you eat at one you will see why, friendly face to face ordering, food is first rate and cooked to order. The hamburger you see advertised is what you get.

Mickey D's is doing everything it can to limit customer interaction with people.
Yeah a Wisconsin based company. A guy I used to work with quit his job here in WI and moved to Florida to open a Culvers a few years back. Last I heard his place is doing great.

Culvers is VERY popular here in Indiana. CLEARLY better than any of the standard fast food chain burger places with a far bigger menu, and not really that much more expensive. At least at the ones near us, the food comes out so damn hot you can barely touch it. Hooters, like so many chain sit down restaurants is getting squeezed by high food costs, trouble attracting good help, and the low quality product and service that comes with that. Hooters suffers even more because of a concept that has probably run its course. Breastaurants are a pretty dated and out of touch idea in the 2020's.

My buddy's wife owns one here in MO and has made a killing. So much so that she's working on opening 2-3 more in the near future.

One of Hooters biggest problems is the food is mediocre at best, the wings have to be from the smallest chickens in the world and they cook them to death.

When I was traveling in sales I ate at a Hooters quite often. The two best were Daytona Speedway Hooters and Columbia S. C. Hooters.
This is why I don’t eat Pollo Loco. Tiny chickens. They must be getting em straight out of the incubator. They should change their name to El Sparrow Loco.

The worst chicken I had was years ago at a local Chinese restaurant. They literally called their chicken "Chinese Chicken."
But it was just regular chicken wings, and I know that it wasn't some imported Chinese chicken. I am positive it was local from here in South Carolina.

I was on my way to work and couldn't go back to complain. But I got to thinking about Kentucky Fried Chicken, and there's no way that all of the chicken they sell is from Kentucky either. They have restaurants all over the world, and the numbers don't add up. Old Colonel Sanders was cheating and lying, too.

There is to much "Nashville Chicken" out there....

So even if Hooters has some silicone girls that ain't 100% natural, I will not complain

They serve Duck and Chicken that way in China with the head attached. They might even leave it's private parts attached. i dont want to know....

You think that's bad, think about the places selling Buffalo chicken wings. I was in Buffalo and never saw one chicken coop. So they are lying too!! It's like boneless chickens. How do they get around without bones? Are they hatched with crutches or a mini-wheelchair? If so, what happens to all those mini-wheelchairs, walkers and crutches once the boneless chicken meets its demise?

So many problems in this world and so many questions.

Those poor genetically breeded immobile boneless chickens can't mate naturally. The sick boneless chicken farmers have to be assisting them, most likely against the chicken's will.

Calling hooters food mediocre is offensive to the term mediocre.

I haven't eaten at hooters in over 10 years, but back then I thought it wasn't bad for it's price point. It's certainly not gourmet but put it up against Fridays/Applebee's type places it wasn't bad.

Damn....... I must be the only one on this board that likes Hooter's Food. I'm a sucker for boneless wings and HOT boneless wings even with my stomach rebelling. While I agree Hooter's food isnt the best, it serves a purpose for me.

Agreed. I used to eat at a Hooters when I was in Indianapolis once or twice a year back in the 90's-early 2000's and I always thought the food was decent, certainly no worse than the usual chain casual dining places. For the longest time I was on an incredible streak of getting the hottest looking waitress in the place when I was there. Made it hard to concentrate on the food......... :p

I havent been to Hooters in a long time, but I do remember anything about the food.

I actually legit enjoy their food and I know no one will believe me because they'll think Im a perv that goes to stare at girls like someone who said they read playboy for the articles or enjoys the strip club because of their buffet ha ha but I think Hooters has a great chicken sandwich along with the boneless wings. Maybe my expectations need adjusting, while not the best I think there are worse places I've eaten at than Hooters.

Playboy used good paper stock that was also very resilient.

Relax, that's not why we think you're a perv.

Now you fellers and gals don't get me wrong, we are talking food not the food delivery folks at Hooters.

Best Food delivery personnel at a Hooters: Daytona Speedway Hooters and Columbia S.C. Hooters, exceptional staffing at those locations.

The worst in the world: Hooters in down town Atlanta, just awful.

The Hooters here in Jacksonville closed abruptly a couple weeks ago. No warning, no notice to employees, nothing. Just closed in the middle of the night.

I keep hearing how it’s Twin Peaks, but we don’t have a Twin Peaks either. It closed a couple years ago. Oddly enough, real odd considering how many seafood restaurants there are in Onslow County, our Red Lobster was not among those that closed. Fortunately, Applebees and Chilis have survived too.

I actually miss a lot of these chain restaurants that are closing locations. In a lot of cases, they’re much cheaper than the locally owned restaurants, and you know what you’re getting at a Chilis, Applebees or Red Lobster, or any place like that.

Culver’s and Wawa are two of the best expansions to Florida in a long time.

We’re getting a Wawa around where I live soon.

Locals are livid about Awful House and Wawa because “it’s gonna hurt small businesses because those places are open 24 hours.”

Sounds like small businesses need to change things up.

Wawa food is soooo overrated. It’s incredibly convenient but very meh food wise. That said, I’m happy for people that are getting wawas built near them.

-Says a guy who’s been spoiled by Wawa his whole life and has about 8 within a 10 minute drive. I literally drive by 5 on my 30 minute drive to work and have one connected to my neighborhood 200 yards from where I’m sitting right now.

Chain restaurants as a whole have gone way downhill. Fast casual (Panda Express, Chick-fil-A , etc.) has never been better, but most chains have gone so cheap with their ingredients the food has become horrible

See, around here, it’s the same ingredients as the locally owned restaurants. There are A LOT of regulations that, in many counties or states, prohibit restaurants from getting higher quality, fresher ingredients. Just about everything you eat at a restaurant comes from Sysco, Performance, or US Foods.

Wawa is great. And I cannot wait to have 24 hour options near me.

How can you be hurt by a business that operates during hours you aren't open anyway?

And how can J'ville not already have a Waffle House? They're reliably okay but they're not going to put a decent local breakfast-and-lunch joint out of business.

Apparently, You've never been to Warwick R.I. in the early 2000s.
