The future of the Royals and Chiefs in Kansas City was thrown into question Tuesday when residents of Jackson County voted down a sales tax measure that would have helped to fund a new downtown ballpark along with major renovations to Arrowhead Stadium.

Kaufman Stadium isn't even a bad stadium and there's no need to build a new one but every MLB team wants their stadium to be Camden Yards.
 
So the A’s are going to play in Sacramento in the interim, and Fisher promotes it by enticing prospective fans to…come watch opposing players hit dingers? This guy is a loser and the Las Vegas project is also doomed if he still owns the team by then.

The good news is they don’t need a lot of seating for the 73 remaining A’s fans.

Like the Phillies aren't blue. They apparently were going with the City flag which is blue and yellow, but it's not even that blue. The hats are ok but yikes on the rest.

April 16, 1940: Cleveland's Bob Feller defeats the White sox 1 - 0 in Chicago in the only opening day no-hitter in the Major Leagues.

April 17, 1947: Jackie Robinson "bunts" for his first major league hit.

April 20, 1939: The Red Sox's ted Williams gets his first major league hit.

Great stuff. Baseball has a long history and so many great stories. Probabaly my favorite Ken Burns documentary is the one about baseball

To be honest, Red Sox are the only team from the area who have no clue what they’re doing or how to even get better. They’ve had a pitching problem for years now which hasn’t been fixed.

The Celtics and Bruins specially are the saving grace from Boston. lol
 
Phillies starters have been on fire lately, something like 4 earned runs in the last 51 innings. It's the bullpen that concerns me as always. Gave up 5 runs to the White Sox the other night after Wheeler took a no hitter into the 8th. Fortunately they had a 9 run lead at the time.

For me, the issue is that over the top theatrics and our fans pretending that John Henry is the worst owner in the game and we're fielding a 90 loss team.
 
Standings are weird the Phillies have the most wins in baseball yet are second in the division because they've played more than the Braves.
 
A little more off topic trivia:

On May 14, 1913 Washington’s Walter Johnson gives up a run in the fourth inning against the St. Louis Browns to end his streak of 56 scoreless innings. Senators win 10 – 5.

On May15, 1941 Joe DiMaggio started his 56 game hitting streak with a single against the White Sox.

On May17, 1979 The Phillies beat the Cube 23 – 22. There were 45 runs, 50 hits, 11 home runs, 127 batters and 11 pitchers.

On May14, 1967 Mickey Mantle hits his 500th home run, a shot off of Stu Miller of the Orioles.

The White Sox have let me down every since with the exception of 2005. We contended just enough in the 90's, sucked in the 2000's, finally did a proper rebuild in the 20-teens only to get skunked by the Astro's in that rebuild's lone division title and playoff appearance year. So no, its been complete misery since I was a high schooler.
