All of these schemes have that generic looking NASCAR video game paintbooth template with stripes & the colors were just filled in with bucket tool in microsoft paint.

Indeed rare, but not unheard of. The bulk of the races in his final championship year of 1979 were run in a Chevy, the rest in an Oldsmobile. Pretty much the same for 1980. And then there was the one-off ride buy in the #6 DK Ulrich car in 1986.
