Race thread: 102nd Indy 500

I agree, it's piling up to be a bit much, but it doesn't mean it isn't the right direction overall for the race and series. I suspect a lot of the drivers are conditioned to race with the belief the cars are as stable as they were previously. Adjustments will be made over time.

Should have been expected with decreased downforce this year. Next year will probably be better for oval racing.

Well Riccardo this morning had a legendary drive for the ages, but so far Rossi has been my driver of the day, from 32nd up to where he is now kicking ass and taking names. Dude is taking my breath away on these passes

Re-read your post. Maybe think about it for a moment and try again.
I know there is a device they put on Indycars after that tire killed those fans at Charlotte that is supposed to keep the tire near the car in an accident.

I would love to see the name Andretti or Rahul in victory lane just for old times sake.
I’d be be super happy if Marco got it done, I still believe in the guy even though most fans have somewhat abandoned him. But my heart belongs to Rossi today, I’m rooting for him here on out today

I suppose technically you are correct. All 4 corners of cars suspension IS tethered to chassis. But if wheel breaks it's a missle. But that WAS an odd impact angle for an IndyCar.
An absolute missle, that was a scary sequence

I have to say 2 things first off the Indy Cars look like Indy Cars again this year and for the younger posters here like myself that still play...it’s a damn shame there’s no Indy Car video game. It’s a travesty we can’t play the Indy 500 in 2018
