Race thread: 102nd Indy 500

He thinks the characteristics of the race is different this year..uh yeah..aero push, can't draft up and hard as hell to pass..it's organic.:D
Heh...just wait...NASCAR fans: "Make the Brickyard 400 like the Indy 500! Wait...no...not this Indy 500!"

This is a superior race that will be portrayed as otherwise by people who don't appreciate the nuances of auto racing and need loads of gratuitous (credit to @LewTheShoe) action and meaningless back and forth position shuffling to hold their attention. I find this interesting and full of genuine suspense.

Well there goes the second championship contender of the month. Hinch and now Bourdais.

What a bizarre-looking incident.

Well Indy certainly has the "max-commercials" thing pioneered by Nascar figured out

I'll take an American sprint car driver anyday. This series should be based around ovals, if you want a bunch of road courses and road course specialists watch F1
I think it's good that there's room for both. It's sad that Bryan Clauson passed before he could really got a proper chance here, and it sucks that Chris Windom totaled his Lights car in testing and couldn't race in the Freedom 100 on Friday. It sounds like he has real aspirations to race here in the 500 someday too.

No. no. no no.
