Random NASCAR Stuff to talk about.....

I just responded to my NA$$CAR Fan Council survey request. I rated both weekend races as being a 9. I gave FOX a generous 5 and ESPN a well-deserved 6 for their coverage of their respective races.

I told them that racing such as we were treated to last weekend is a big part of why I became a fan of NA$$CAR over 40 years ago and that it was really quite a shame that the Network Broadcasts did such a sh!tty job of covering the events. I also said that it makes me very happy that the countdown to the end of the "FOX Season" has begun!

I also made some reference to the fact that next week's Destructor Plate Race can't be over soon enough for me...

I like to keep the masses informed. In fact I was just getting ready to let you know that Sunoco is getting ready to be purchased by Energy Transfer. Somehow 'Energy Transfer, The Official Fuel of NASCAR' just doesn't seem to have the same ring as Sunoco. Maybe that's just me but here's the story none the less.

How about giving that fan council a little grief over the newtworks' not showing the debris that causes a caution. I know that they take that opportunity to go to commercial , but they should tape it and show it when they come back.

They didn't send me a survey. After the essay I submitted they probably have a good idea of what I think of the TV coverage.

I don't get a survey each and every week either. And I have sent some rather caustic opinions as well. Still on the list...
 
It's now been one month since the last multi-car wreck in a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race (the Bowyer incident at Martinsville).
 
Also..... Do you think that there will be an announcement on RCR's bumper covers that were confiscated last week @ Richmond before the Nationwide race?

All three Richard Childress Racing teams and all three Turner Motorsports teams replaced the upper front bumper covers on their Nationwide Series cars Thursday after NASCAR confiscated modified bumper covers during inspection. Nationwide teams went through inspection Thursday at Richmond International Raceway to prepare for practice Friday morning and the race Friday night.

Quite interesting how little attention has been paid to this topic by Le Media.
But it is in the N'wide series afterall...
 
The whole 'debris caution' thing @ Richmond is taking the top topic this week on NASCAR Radio. Not one mention of RCR's bumper issues that I've heard anyway.

We should also be clear that Turner Motorsports had 3 bumper covers confiscated as well. :)

JD Motorsports will borrow hauler from RAB's Truck Series team to get to Talladega this weekend. Team's cars for Dega were not on the truck.

That really sucks. A fire destroyed one of Penskes Indy car haulers a few years a go also. It's like a race car hauler convention here at the Petro travel plaza in Carnesville Ga right now. You have all of the Nhra teams here fueling and getting there transporters washed before they head into the Atlanta dragway, and you have a lot of the Nascar teams stopping here on the way to Talladega. This would be a race fans perfect opportunity to score a lot of free t-shirts and hats.

Yeah, and FORD must be getting a steal of a deal on all the ECO-BOOST advertising it gets on RFR cars. ;)

No wonder FORD wants PENSKE. They won't have to hold Roger's hand like they have to for Jack these days.
 
I fall under this category. How about you?

According to SMI, 36% of fans have a second screen (computer, phone) open during NASCAR race for race info in addition to watching on TV.

I always have my phone on during the race. Sometimes the computer but it faces the opposite way from my TV.

I usually have DirecTV's HotPass on following Jr's channel and two computers with additional scanner feeds. My wife thinks that I'm crazy but I like to hear what's going on. I used to participate in the race threads during the race but they seem to tun into little more than a bitch session about the racing/commercials/work related issue/etc..... It get old.

I usually use Hotpass to try and follow the 24 via other driver's feeds. I also use Trackpass Scanner for the 24. I don't usually chime in to much on the race threads. Too much Andy whining. As someone who likes NASCAR racing I'd rather not read a bunch of posts trashing it or my drivers.
