Random NASCAR Stuff to talk about.....

Champion Tire and Wheel. The same company that hauls all the pit war wagons to each track every week. The garage tool boxes and crash carts are hauled by each respective team. The War Wagons just will not fit in in each respective hauler, so Champion hauls them...

I wondered about those giant tool patios. Thanks, Magic.

Did you know?

Carl Edwards hasn't finished better than 5th all year. What a decline in production. The guy goes from being in a two way tie and having to go to a tie breaker to determine the 2011 NASCAR Champion to, Carl who?

And the difference between being Champion & "Carl who" is how many 100ths of a second??

He was only 1.306 seconds behind Tony in crossing the line @ Homestead. Well, that and a pass between him and the Championship. ;) Might as well have been a mile.

I think he may have tried too hard last week at Bristol & found himself between a rock and a hard place with track position & fuel stops.

He's really left with little choice. Two races to make the show and he's got to get at least one win or he's watching this Chase from the outside. A win by him this weekend would really add to the drama @ Richmond.

That's been carl's pattern throughout his career. Run strong for a year, maybe 2, then he's in the crapper for a year or 2.

'05 - 4W, 2nd in points, 35 back.
'06 - 0W, 12th, no chase
'07 - 3W, 9th, -500
'08 - 9W (rear canter and oil cover help), 2nd, -69
'09 - 0W, 11th, -534
'10 - 2W, 4th, -229
'11 - 1W, 2nd, -0
'12 - 0W, 12th, -137 after 24 races.

Is there another top driver who has these huge swings in performance?

I'd sure like to hear any speculation on Edwards lackluster season compared to last year and being in the hunt all season long this years been dreadful. And don't blame it on the Rousch cars there's one in 1st and one in 4th heck even Ambrose has one Win and 3 top 5's.

No offense to the Aussie's just a comparison of similar if not lesser equipment.

Don't forget the Truck race tonight @ 7:30pm. Weather permitting.

The best part about a Monday holiday is being able to say "C U Next Tuesday!" to your "favorite" co-workers. :D NASCAR

Kyle's gonna race. I hope he and Austin 'run 'em over' Dillon have some late race fun.

And They Did!! Well one of them Dillons anyway... lol Kyle was not too happy about a second place finish. But he was at least conversational regarding what he thought the reason was. He dropped the gauntlet for his team though!

That wa a great finish.

Kyle is still an ass. His truck was clearly the best out there, until he burned the tires up showing off. His team can't fix stupid, so that's the way it is.

I'm looking at the Nationwide schedule right now, and 7 of the next 10 races will be at cookie-cutter tracks. Makes 6 of the next 12 for Cup seem not so bad.

And what if Biffle wins the Cup?

Even though he seems like a nice enough guy, he does drive for Nascar's dark master, not a fan favorite and isn't tossed in your face by 437 commercials everytime you visit nascar.com or watch a race on Speed - not that I've ever been on speed watching a race.

What then? Fender, advise us please.

I'm prescribing 10 mg of Xanax, 3 times a day. That will help you calm your Revenge of the Empire delusions. ;)

He'd be the first to win a championship in all 3 series which would be cool to see.
