I think IMSA generally does a good job with BoP, and that is with balancing anything from 2.0L turbo I4s to 6.2L NA V8s and everything in between, with vastly different cars and weights coming off of the assembly line. I don't see any reason why NASCAR couldn't let manufacturers play around with body styles some more (if that is indeed a sticking point for them) and fiddle around with downforce/drag numbers.
