SILLY SEASON 2018

From the FWIW Department: Rick Allen said on the air this morning that Ty Dillon essentially confirmed that he will remain in the Germain 13 next year, not moving to the Childress mothership. Jeff Burton said Richard Childress is very upbeat and genuinely excited about his 2018 plans, although Childress would not disclose what those plans are. The NBC broadcast crew speculated that Matt Kenseth might be climbing in the 27 next year.

Man, that would be rough for Matt.

Would be cool to see him do a little something for RCR before retiring.

Probably have Circle K and Tide following him? I'd hope so.

the #21 car for Menard could still look classy even with new sponsorship

Not bad actually but with Menards they usually have B2B (business to business deals) with other companies so I doubt you'll see that. Sounds like Menards and it's associates will be there for 22 races and Motorcraft the rest?

I think so with Motorcraft

Gosh I hope Richard pulls that off. Would be huge for RCR

I know Kurt had a decent relationship with Childress when he was with the 78 team. Wonder if Monster deal doesn't come through if we could see Kurt in the 27.

Most likely we'll see a mostly day glow yellow judging by the way they've gone for so, so many years now... but if they went with something different, think of a mostly black car or something, it could be done differently but who knows...

I have a feeling Kurt is in the same boat as Kenseth. To expensive for today's sponsors and having an also run year. The 14 is outrunning the Kurt lately.

When Prayer Joe condoned Denny's action of going out to purposely wreck Xfinity drivers and then let him go after Joey once he departed from the team REALLY showed that this guy is a phony as a $3. bill. Then there is the altercation between Matt and Joey. That in it self really exposed him as an agent of the devil.

Simple question: If you were faced with keeping Matt for a couple of years, and losing Erik Jones, would you do it? I mean stay away from the little kid loyalty bull****, and think sponsors, and the health of your company. Yes or no. Then, let's talk about who you think Coach is. BTW....Let's also consider Matt's comments. When is the last time you heard a driver say, "I knew it was coming. They gave me plenty of time to consider my options." I mean if Matt is shooting straight (and why wouldn't he), why wouldn't he come right out and say that Coach is a jerk...or imply it in that Matt way?

I have to admit,I look at Joe Gibbs a lot different with this and the suspension of the 78 crew.He isn't the person I thought he was.

I sat in the Turn 4 Terrace at Charlotte in 2004 or 2005. Very back row, where it meets the open box seats. Joe Gibbs was up there with a PR person, shaking hands and taking pictures with a group of people. There was a guy and his kid a few seats down from me, both wearing Redskins hats and the father had a jersey on. He jumped out of his seat when Joe Gibbs walked up, excited that he's within 10 feet of a man he clearly idolizes. He patiently waited until they were done with the meet and greet, and held his son up to the railing. He says "Coach, will you sign my kids hat? We're huge fans!" Joe Gibbs turns and looks at them both, for long enough that it's clear that he heard the request and saw the Redskins apparel. Then he walks off. Doesn't say a word. Just walks off. No one tells him to go, no one is leading him out. He just leaves. I completely understand that he has zero obligation to sign anything or interact with any fans. Publicly it looks like Joe Gibbs bends over backwards for fans and is a really nice guy, but it didn't seem so that day. That moment will forever be burned into my mind, that what we see in public is likely not what happens in private at JGR.

A man who made himself by the destruction of other humans. In this case it was football players.
Of course they are all willing to do that.

Where is the sarcasm emoji? Please tell me that you forgot to hit it.

Those who might have had another type of experience with Coach probably don't come on forums to say anything because it would be pathetic. Just saying.....

Where I work at we have this thing called "core values".Basically we treat customers, employees and subordinates the way we would expect to be treated if we were in their position and honor our contracts.I lose a lot of respect for companies and individuals who don't do this. You don't follow "core values" in your personal or professional life when it's only convenient for you. That is why I look at Joe Gibbs differently today.

The boos tell the story, you can fool some of the people all of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time. Being a huge fan of Tony, I watched that deal go down, and my eyes have been opened every since. Watched Joey after he was dropped good kid at the time. But during the same time and token Gibbs would defend both Hambone and Busch. Later when Hamlin screwed himself and ate the wall when tangling with Joey ol Gibbs was doing his best we will soldier on act. ah B.S.

Sarcasm emoji please. Right?
Let your shorts hang lose and breath. :sarcasm:
Now you have it. :D

My opinion of the whole football sport is the same, not just aimed at Joe. In fact the people today are more guilty because now they have all the facts.

Don't forget a form of indentured servitude. Players voluntarily submit to being bought and sold, traded, when injured let go. But we don't care about that, it's foooobah :D go team
I was thinking along the lines of the head injuries etc that has given many of them a very poor outlook for their future. At least we can say Nascar was kicking and screaming but they still implemented safety eventually. In football they are not really taking any steps to prevent those type of injuries. Of course they are still ahead of the Gladiators of old. :D

Just saying what? "Another type of experience"? I'm simply sharing one I witnessed that didn't see to be in line with the image I had of the man. If that makes me pathetic, so be it.

There may just not be enough quality seats for these marquee free agents to fill. Especially if HMS don't pick up Kasey's option.

This is a business and when you have 450 employees to feed you can't play games and lose short term and long term income. Loyalty to a 45 year old driver that nobody wants to pay for might've been a thing 10 years ago. It might not be today. So do you invest in the companys future or sign a short extention with Matt and lose your new stallion? Am I right?
