SILLY SEASON 2018

A Chinese company expressed interest in buying Jeep. The deal was never entertained. They'll not split Jeep and Ram from FCA.

They're trying to sell Jeep, I believe.
Ok that makes the Dodge comeback at least possible. Everytime I read those rumors I thought, "why would a company come back to NASCAR while trying to sell the company?" But now it makes sense, I was wrong but not completely wrong ;)

I haven't heard anything about Kenseth. Last I heard about Dodge was they were "testing" with RCR (which I know as a fact) and they were waaaaaaaaaaay off. Not sure if they're back to the drawing board, or they just scrapped it. I guess I can ask some folks in Charlotte.

@Allenbaba scared to ask about Patrick, but seems that NASCAR brass would like to see her with a ride....
I just have no idea where she'd go. I can't think of one thing that seems viable. Maaaaaaaaybe the 43???? Give me a different option (or "wish"), and I'll give you my thoughts...but I can't think of any.

The 27?

Maybe. Only thing I ever hear about RCR is how badly they're struggling financially. RC isn't the kind of owner willing to backstop the organization with personal wealth. I know Danica comes with some money based on her talks with the 77, but it's definitely not enough by RCR standards.

The problem...and this is going to be very hard for you to hear...is that she's considered a "failure" on the track, and she has a terrible reputation off the track. You can live with one of those...but both make finding a job very difficult unless you come to the table with every single cent needed.

:(

Respect though.
I know shes probably difficult by times. Shes got work to do for sure......I for one am surprised she wants to race as bad as she does with everything going on. What about NASCAR themselves stepping in or Ford?

I think that if DP10 races next year you see a different Patrick.

.
So that puts the #27 team in limbo at this point correct?, I know RC stated he was hoping to team would run next year.

Only when he!! freezes over. No way a female sits in a Petty car. She's done. I suspect that NB got wind of her wanting to quit and that was part of the reason they took an out while they could. She hasn't been happy for 3 years. Maybe never according to some...

You think RP would even think about hiring HER? You be smokin crack. One of the teams I've always felt had a bonus/bounty on finishing in front of her. Just my own opinion. Completely unsubstantiated.
If you think RP is calling the shots there, you be smokin crack.

BTW...I highly doubt she ends up there. Just saying it's one of the few "open" seats...although they're trying very hard to fund Bubba (which I'm sure just tickles RP pink).

if you can, let us in on the bushes NASCAR is beating for DP and Wallace...be curious as to who they were talking to.

That's the thing. She's not a good racer and she's not personable.

It's like dating an ugly chick who also has a ****** personality. Why put yourself through that hell?

Why u say it tickles him pink?? I would love to hear your view

Ummm? Petty is old-school southern red-neck. I love the guy but people of his generation have certain beliefs that aren't popular today. THAT is my opinion. But I could be wrong. Would screw up a perfect record though. :partytime
That's the same thing I thought lol...

Interesting note from your first link. It says that Kenseth was replaced by his sponsor. Funny, in that his sponsors are currently courting him for something next year...we'll keep the world in suspense on that for a month or two.

@Allenbaba I do remember you posting that the testing wasn't going that well. Mike Bagley supposedly did a Q&A at Dover and openly said Dodge was expected to return in 2019 and that the flagship would surprise everyone. RCR switching would come as a surprise to most people not keeping up with the rumors talked about online.

Edit- I assume they were "waaaaaaaaay" off on the engine side, since RCR should have the other stuff figured out? I wonder if they actually had a car on track, or if they were simply doing dyno pulls of an RCR build Dodge engine. That's not a question for you, at least not one I expect you could answer, just me wondering out loud.

Man, I hope Majeski stays with Roush. The young man is really talented, I just hope they don't lose him like they did with Buescher.

Fenway has a stake in iRacing, no?

I guess I never knew anything about Fenway having any affiliation with iRacing but the redditors were commenting that he owns 50%.

I really am torn about Chris buscher at this point in his career because he certainly has not performed for JTG or outran his equipment at all so I really don't know how good he is

I think they just made a mistake in that first article .. I think their use of the word sponsors was probably not accurate. They may have meant employer .. as in JGR not renewing his contract.
